Silly Annoyances

Re: Silly Annoyances

  • I have been typing recipes for my boss's wife while we're slow at work.  She's really talented in the kitchen, and so she's making a cookbook for all her kids for Christmas.

Part of me is happy to help her out because she has pretty bad arthritis in her wrists, but I am starting to feel like I'm being taken advantage of because I have typed out probably 100 recipes and she said there's more to come.  Its pretty annoying.

  • I hate it when I politely ask if a restaurant has the nutritional values of their menu items available anywhere, like on a website, and the person serving me looks at me like I am stupid or offensive for asking about it.
  • I hate it when the dishwashers clean and my roommates leave their dishes in the sink. It's so easy to just take a step to the left and place them in there.
Also, whenever I get home from work every single kitchen cabinet is open. It drives me insane!

  • DH flushes the toilet before he's finished peeing. I don't understand it and for some reason it irritates me. I can hear him in the bathroom and he's still going after flushing. If you're going to flush, why not wait until you're done?

I also get annoyed when someone calls me, and when I don't answer, sends 3 texts asking what I'm doing. Clearly I'm busy, leave me alone.
  • Mandy- that sounds just like my boss. She will ask me to order something for her "no hurry" so I try to finish what I'm doing and 10 seconds later she asks if I did it, and I say no, I'm about to. Then she will linger around and ask again until its done (in a span of oh, 10 minutes).
I'm like c'mon! You could have just done it yourself in 2 minutes! Its for YOUR patient.
  • I have a wedding related one that I seem to be alone on.  I HATE when they say, "Mr. and Mrs. His first and last name."  Seriously?  So women can't even keep their FIRST names?  I have been to 4 weddings this summer and ALL of them end with it.  My FI will look over at me and say, "Calm down, it's not your wedding."  but GAH!

[QUOTE]I can't stand it when people talk slow, talk in circles and say a bunch of "Um", "Huh", "You know", and says "Stuff like that." after every single effing sentence. OMFG, just spit it out. Be concise because my time is precious!

    Yes, this!

I'm also annoyed when people end a statement as if it's a question, especially at work.  "It's really important that we understand this process?  Because if we design it incorrectly? we will have issues in the future???"  It sounds so whiny and makes the person seem like they have a total lack of self confidence.
  • Gah, so annoying eh roxy?

It literally takes me 30 seconds to do it.  Which is why it's silly to be annoyed.  But, c'mon buddy.  Google a restaurant and the number will show up on the first page.

  • Yup. Especially when I end up having to ask her questions regarding it because the person on the phone needs additional information.
  • Oh my god,  sounds like my old boss.

  • I used to get really annoyed at FI when he would come home and ask me what I am doing.  Now this wouldn't be bad if I wasn't doing something specific like laundry or cooking.  He will walk in the laundry room, see me folding laundry and ask what I am doing.  Now when he does this I answer with something totally off the wall.  If I am cooking supper and he walks in asking what I am doing I will respond with something like "changing the oil in the car".  :)  I still get annoyed but, now I find some humor in it!

Andplusalso, I ::eyeroll:: the people that call me on my home phone and ask me where I am at!  Yes, this happens from time to time.  Where the hell do they think I am at?  Wal-Mart?
1st pic of us together. Apparently I thought something was funny.

Ha!  I did that to my mom once - called her home phone and asked her if she was out shopping.  It gave us a good laugh.  One day my sister was on her home phone and started driving away from her house, thinking she was on her cell.  And another sister of mine once tried answering her tv remote when her phone rang.  Sometimes we're a bunch of dingbats.

First thing I do in the morning when I get up is any dishes that may have been left from the previous night.  Put them in the dishwasher, clean the counters, walk away.  I come back, and FI's cereal bowl is sitting in the sink.  Really?  I'm pretty sure I JUST did all the dishes, and I'm also pretty sure it takes exactly three seconds to put the damn bowl in the damn dishwasher.  Why should I have to do it?  He does this every day, and thus gets a dirty look every day.
