Just curious for those of you who have had your shower or are planning on it soon...did you get gifts for the hosts and bridesmaids who helped coordinate your shower?  If so, what did you get and what is an appropriate price range?  I am planning on getting them all gifts for being part of the wedding at a later date.

Sure did.  My price range was what I felt I could afford.  I gave a bottle of my aunt's favorite wine and a GC to her favorite clothing boutique.

I did. Like previous response give what you can give. I gave the girls that helped a $50 gift card to get their hair done the day of the wedding. They spent a lot of money on my shower and I only felt that it was right

I was thinking about giving them a gift certificate for a spa day. I also sell mark. makeup so I get a small discount on products, I was thinking of making little gift baskets for them of the products I sell like the face masks and "self sanctuary" products (body butter, bath salts, etc)

Hostess gifts for the shower are usually small. The thank you note is really the most important thing.

A plant, flowers, african violet, wine, etc

I got my 4 hosts each a candle and a dozen tulips. Cost was about 15 a person, so 60 total.

Oh dear......our family has just become "old enough" to begin the wedding process.  My daughter is getting married next June; I am hosting a shower for my nephew next month.

I have learned quite quickly that wedding routines, customs, traditions, and other protocol have changed; some dramatically, others more subtlely.  I am excited that current weddings "are not your mothers wedding" anymore....my daughter is incorporating  some fun and unique ideas into her planning.  I love the majority of them!

As a hostess of an upcoming shower, it was absolutely my pleasure and wish to do so....I really hope my nephews' fiance does not feel compelled to offer anything more than a card of thanks.  As the future mother-of-the-bride, I am interested to see more responses on this post to see what the trend is so that I may better inform my daughter as to expectations on her part.  My kids were brought up to never enter a  household as a first time guest "empty handed", but I know that is more of an old school thought.

its always a good idea to thank the hostess(es) for showers. its not the same as the bm gifts.

as for the cost of the gift, whatever you can afford. something personal, and heartfelt.

Yes.  I got lucky - my mom actually knitted them each a washcloth and bought soap for them.  I don't think it has to be spendy, but it's gracious to give someone who hosts a party for you a token of appreciation.

I have never heard of a knitted washcloth. That sounds so odd.

My two bridesmaids hosted a couples shower for us, and we gave them each a nice candle and thank you note.  My 4 aunts also hosted a shower for me, and I purchased them all something from Crate & Barrel (less than $10 each) that I knew they would use, and wrote them each a nice thank you card.  Both groups of hostesses seemed satisfied with this.

I did get gifts for them. I didn't spend a lot of money, but I got them something nice. I also wrote a nice note.
