I'm not sure Kiki. His obsession with it came from his super-odd first college roommate. Rick found out the kid's middle name was Danger and thought it was the coolest thing ever.

my FBIL and his wife named their son Balien... thats right alien with a "B" in front of it. poor kid gets teased mercilessly by his uncles.

One of the ladies that operated my sons' DC had 3 kids, Mystic (boy), Nature (girl), and Summit(boy).  When she was expecting the 4th one, we all waited to hear the name.  It was a girl, Season.  If it had been a boy, the name would have been Answer.

My mom met a kid the other day named XanderRayne. And was really relieved when I told her I plan on giving my kids real names.

Joeslyn (her dad is Joe, so Jocelyn wouln't do)

and there were more that I'm mad at myself for not writing down. My mom is retiring in May, so after so many years these don't even phase her.

FI's cousin named her daughter Payt'n.  It was slightly painful for me to put that on the invitation envelope.  The apostrophe doesn't even shorten it; it just makes it look dumb as shiit.

I don't know what's more annoying to me though, a unique name, or a common name that parents try to make you-neek by changing the spelling.  And sometimes, I think the parents just misspelled it.

One of the wives I've met is married to a Stepfan, pronounced Stefan.  But I can't help reading it as Step-fan.

And I got crap for naming my son Luke Skyler.  NOT for Star Wars.

I always wanted a Skyler, but exH would not allow it for a first name, so it became his middle name.  Poor kid though - his initials are LSD.  After FH and I get married, he will be adopting my boys, so his last name will change. 

Ciara - when is your little bundle supposed to arrive?  Your ticker is at the end.....

My Dad teases him and calls him Skywalker all the time.  He arrived in 2000, when all the prequels to Star Wars were starting to come out in the theaters.

I had a friend many years ago who's last name was Head.  She was pregnant and planning on calling her son "Richard" 

My ex worked as a recruiter and met twins named "Orangejello" and Yellowjello" pronounced "Or-ang-ga-la" and "Ye-law-ga-la"

I could keep going and going, but these are the two best.
