Might have made a mistake...

I had a few guests on my list that I was contemplating on inviting & accidentally sent them save the dates, but we don't talk, nor have we in a long time.  We are acquaintances & not friends, so I wouldn't feel as if I'm burning a bridge as we don't speak now.

Can I not invite them to the wedding?

To clarify I printed out the labels wrong & that's how they got a save the date as well!!

  • If you sent a save the date, you must invite.

How do you ACCIDENTALLY send a STD?

  • Anyone who got save the dates gets an invitation, unless you want to look like an asshole. If you don't talk any more, chances are, they won't come anyway.

  • I'm also unsure as to how this happened, but if you honestly don't care about them judging you for making an etiquette faux pas, then just don't send them one, I suppose.

  • I'm confused about how you accidentally sent them save-the-dates. If by accidentally, you mean that somebody else was in charge of sending them and sent them to people who weren't on your guest list, it would be prudent to call them immediately, explain the mistake, and apologize profusely.

But, if you say "accidentally" but mean that you sent them intentionally but are now changing your mind, uninviting them (which is what it is, since a save-the-date is as good as an invite) would be incredibly rude and would probably burn bridges, even if it doesn't necessarily seem like it now.

  • Just in case you didn't see...I printed out the wrong labels for the save the dates & they were on there.

  • How did you not notice when you were sticking labels on?  Did you send them to like 500 people?

Yet, I feel that getting THAT kind of STD is easier than getting the mailed kind of STD. KWIM?

I must have double checked mine 3-4 times before mailing them. And they were just postcards.

  • The downfall of labels.

Again, your choice, your mistake, now you must invite.

Perhaps you should have been more mindful when you were putting the labels on the Save the Dates.

Although, it's still odd that you don't even like these people, yet you have them on an address label list...er something.

You cannot uninvite.  I am also curious as to the number of people on your list.

  • Ditto fishy.
I still don't understand how. I mean I know how but I don't see how the overlooking happened.

Unless....some poor BM or MOH was held captive and told "Slap these labels on the STDs and do it happily!"  (OP, I'm just kidding.  The regs will get my humor on that)

  • I know it was my mistake just getting some 3rd party opinions...thank you.  I will go ahead with the invites, but it was an honest mistake.  Not everyone checks them 3 or 4 times & I obvioiusly didn't but WILL from now on.  Lesson Learned.
  • Why is it so hard to answer a question?  I'm sure I won't get an answer to that, though, because it is also a question.

  • Goodness...Kiki... I have 200 guests I was sending to...does that help?  Even though it doesn't seem like alot it was for me.
  • You really only needed to check it once....

  • To make you feel better, similar thing happened to me. Fiance was in charge of dopping off at the post office, and was unsure which were the B list, so he mailed them all. I now have to invite more people than I was financially prepared for. Hoping some won't be able to make it......

You shouldn't have had a B list in the first place.  Problem avoided.

  • Thx Kristid...I'm glad there is someone else who  made a mistake.  I can deal though...not a big ish just trying to see what others thought & I got it now.
  • Were any guests accidentally left off the list? You might want to check, just in case, unless you have already! That wouldn't be fun.
