S/O Ignorant FB statements

This was some guy's response to my friend commenting about people driving around at night without turning on their headlights:

My sister has been making really fuckingstupid status updates that make me crazy. The other day was her son's 2 month birthday and her status update was something like "Eli celebrated his 2 month birthday this morning with projectile vomiting. Very similar to many of my birthday celebrations". Everyday she posts something along those lines. Either about him puking or pooping. It just seems really weird and gross.

An old friend of mine is very conservative and very right. He is also extremely closed-mind, refuses to listen to others' opinions, and hates liberals/Democrats.

Here are a few examples of some of the beauties he has posted. He says that because he got harassed for 8-years for being a Bush supporter, he is going to do the same to those who support Obama.

A girl I went to high school with announced that she and her husband are having a third child, which was an accident.  They shared that fact on facebook.  They can't afford the two they already have (both of which were also accidents, which she also announced on facebook), and live with her grandma.  The little boy and girl have to share a room already, so God knows where the third will go.  She also refers to them constantly in her status as "Princess girl name and Prince boy name are so very happy to abc & xyz..."  Ugh

I had an argument with a guy I went to HS with (who I later taught- and had to fail- at uni). He had a status about Muslims being terrorists and how they should all go back to 'where they came from'. Given that he's Polish himself, I simply couldn't let that one slip. When we had our 'discussion' over it and I presented some figures about the number of Muslims in our country and proportion wise the terrorist threat (which of course is ridiculously low), he accused me of 'copying and pasting' (because one surely couldn't come up with a decent argument on the spot!) and then deleted my comments and un-friended me. Oh, he then wrote a status about how he hates 'university tutors who have bipolar and are alcoholics and think they know everything'. 

 

Last time I checked, I'm neither bipolar (and I gather he doesn't even know what this is, as I've never displayed even a slight touch of bipolar in my life!) nor an alcoholic. I'm just not a racist, ignorant prick.

I submit to lamebook and facebookfails regularly.  I'm sad that nothing I've submitted has been listed, but really, it's only a matter of time.

My favorite so far was between my best friend and a guy from our high school.  Apparently he's going through either a divorce or breakup with a former live-in baby mama.  He had some sad song lyrics as his status one day, and my friend responded "forget the B***".  Little did she know that the ex was still friends with him on FB, and so she responded "Damn right I'm a B** you F**ing W**!"  It was HI-Larious.  It took every ounce of my self control not to respond "gee, Rob, I hope she doesn't use that potty mouth in front of your kids."

My facebook is fun. On the one hand I have my uber athiest friends who work for different non-profits and sponsor "We don't believe in God" campains, then I have the uber Christians who spam me every day with "In God we Trust - the truth".
Luckily they are both relatively non-confrontational.

most of the ignorant fb statements i see these days are religious. one recent one was "my daddy is an angel in heaven and is looking down on me."

i wanted to tell her that if she spent less time drunk and more time actually in her church, she'd learn that angels =/= people and people do not turn into angels. she's the one who makes it a point to update her fb status every week when she goes to church (hungover and probably popping the day after pill...she's one of those), so you'd think she would know.

also, her daddy died of a heroin overdose. her parents were drugged out of their mind even though fb friend's minor sister was at home, as was fb friend and my good friend. so there's that.

there were quite a few ignorant anti-conservative or anti-liberal statuses during the election but most have died down. sometimes current events will spark an angry status in one direction or the other, but nothing like ggmae's crazy friend's statuses! i have tons of very liberal friends and tons of very conservative friends but their statuses are not hateful like that. ggmae, your friend is very "special" haha.
