i just got flutes but it doesnt look like our first and last names will fit on them as they look thin. Do engravers use different fonts sizes. 

So we have to have our full names on the flutes and cake knives.

We didn't do any engraving on ours.  We know what they are from, and our names and wedding date.  If you really want it done though, I would probably just put one first name on each, or Mr. lastname on one and Mrs. lastname on the other.

Hi there, certified engraver here.  If you go to a reputable shop,  they are able to control the font size and make it proportionate to your glasses.  Depending on the size of your glasses they may recommend adding charms to your glasses with the engraving on the charms.  I have had to do this once or twice, but only because the glasses were too large for our engraver.
