Need a good laugh?

So, most of you know our wedding was in St. Louis, and we had many family members and guests who hadn't ever been there.  H's aunts and uncles fall under that category as they grew up outside Syracuse and didn't venture too far out of that area.  The people they married were also born and raised in upstate NY, and their families still live there.  While in St. Louis for our wedding, two of H's aunts and his uncle went on the beer tour at Anheuser-Busch.  At the end of the tour, you go to a big room with a bunch of tables and chairs and you get a couple glasses of beer.  Well, they sat at a table and at the table next to them sits the brother-in-law of one of H's aunts who was NOT in St. Louis for our wedding (nor was he invited as it wasn't someone we'd ever met).  This guy also still lives in Syracuse.  H's aunt of course immediately realizes he's with a woman who is not his wife.  So she goes up to him and says "Fancy meeting you here!" and he totally gets the deer-in-the-headlights look.  The woman he's with realizes they know each other and asks how, and H's aunt replies, "Well, you're the only one at this table I'm not related to!"  And then apparently her face completely glazed over too.  A couple minutes later, the brother-in-law tells H's aunt they're gonna leave.  He texts her later asking her not to say anything to anyone since he was supposed to be in Chicago on business.

So, H's aunt went to a city she'd never been to in her life 1000 miles away from home and caught her BIL in an affair.

I think that's by far the best story I have from our wedding, lol.

That is crazy. What a small world.
  • I'm pretty sure she told him he could wreck his own life or something to that end.  I don't think she was gonna tell his wife.

  • oooooooh, damn! He is so busted.
  • Holy Crap! That's pretty amusing (not the affair, but the catching part).  That song "It's a small world" always pops into my head after reading stories like this.

  • Wow. Sucks to be him. Her knowing will probably eat him up inside until he tells his wife. Hopefully.
  • If that's not a sign that you're no good at cheating, well then I don't know what is!  Holy cow that's insane!!!

Did the girl know he was married?
  • Oh man. I don't know that I would be able to keep that kind of secret.
  • So... is it her BIL like her H's brother or his sister's H, or is it her sister's H?

That's all kinds of crazy.  It's a small world afterall.

I believe it's her H's brother.  And her H was killed in a car accident last year and there's been tension between the families b/c of events leading up to that whole situation (it may or may not have been an accident), so that probably made it waaaaaaaaaay more awkward.

I feel like this makes a difference as to what I'd do. If it were one of Charlie's brothers, I'd probably keep his secret, although I'd be mad at him for not coming clean. If it were my sister's husband, I'd be telling her immediately.

  • That's crazy. Agree with Sarah though. J has a sister cheating on her live in BF and a SIL cheating on his brother and bragging about it. His brother knows and just doesn't want to believe it so I wouldn't tell him anything more. If it were my sister's H though, I'd be meeting with her asap and telling her why her H is black and blue from the beating I gave him. :)

  • Talk about random.

I agree, Sarah.  I could never keep that secret if it was my sibling getting run around on.

  • Awkward!

    And welcome back, Veggie!
  • Well, hopefully that will cause him to reevaluate this affair.

  • That is crazy!!!! So was slimy BIL from New York as well?

I don't know, I I'd never cheat on FI so I can't really relate. But if I was going to cheat I still wouldn't go on a tour at a national brewery with my lover, even if it was in a different region of the country.

I've been on that tour before too. It's fun!
  • That is crazy!

I hope you had a great wedding, docta. I want to see some pics.
