Can you tell I am adding all my guests on here tonght?? LOL

So my FI's disabled brother lives with his mother (father passed away 2yrs ago) how do I address the invitation so it doesn't look like they are husband and wife?

Re: Another Guest List/Invitation Question

  • Put each name on a separate line:

    Ms. Jane Doe
    Mr. John Doe

If it was on one line with "and" in the middle that would indicate a couple.

  • Is he over 18?  If so, I would send him a separate invitation.  Otherwise, I would put their names on two separate lines (mom first).

  • Either do two different invitations or address them

    FI's Brother
    FI's Mother

I'm sure they'll know that they're not married to each other.
  • How disabled are we talking here? Physical disability or mental?  If it's a physical disability, send him his own invitation, as he should be able to handle it on his own.  If it's a mental disability that he might have difficulty understanding what to do, I'd send one to him and to his mom.

Not to sound insensitive, I just can't think of a different/better way to word that.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.
  • Yes, list the names separately or you can choose to have a separate invitation sent if you want.  (And it doesn't matter what kind of disability he has.)
