Bridesmaid: I don't like the dress

Re: Bridesmaid: I don't like the dress

  • You say that she's going to continue to complain about it - big deal. She's welcome to complain. That doesn't mean you have to change the dress, since it doesn't sound like she actually has legit concerns about it being too revealing or uncomfortable. If she doesn't order the dress, she's out, but don't present it to her like that or you sound like the bad guy trying to force her out.

And Brookelyn, chill. She's reinforcing advice that's given out all the time and providing an example of how it really is good advice, not saying she's invented the wheel and is telling us something groundbreaking.

    <div>Thank you. </div><div>
</div><div>As an aside, you may remember from my last post that every time she's around and someone asks me how the planning is going she gets this stupid smile of her face and goes: "hope I don't go into labour on your weeding day."  She's done it at least 5 times.  Clearly, they trying to get pregnant - kudos of them.</div><div>
</div><div>Anyway, today on FB her status reads: COULD THIS BE TRUE????? WHAT ARE THE ODDS?!? SAME DAY!? </div><div>
</div><div>If there is a god, and he's kind, she WILL go into labour on my wedding day and that will be the end of it.  </div>

  • Actually, "I hope you do!" said all enthusiastically but maybe with an eye-roll would be a pretty hilarious comeback whenever she says the thing about the labor.

Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
  • Yeah, labor would be a really easy way for you to get rid of her.  And btw, I love the dress.

  • It's a dress in the price range that she gave, and she neglected to go shopping or give you any feedback for three weeks after you sent her your choice. IMO, if you wanted her to wear a vampire costume with a hoop skirt, too bad for her. She had ample opportunity to speak up.
  • I love the dress!

I'm sorry you have to deal with her.  Also, since my FI and I just started planning, I appreciated the tips on who NOT to choose.
