Ya know what's not good?

Coffee without cream.

I'm on a "liquid" diet today (ugh), and the instruction sheet clearly specifies NO dairy products, just clear liquids. Coffee was on the clear liquids list, but without cream. I've never had it this way (I'm a sugar and cream gal), and it's awful. Today will be a long day.

Any foods/drinks that you really dislike?

Re: Ya know what's not good?

  • What about using a non-dairy creamer?

    Blueberries and okra. Blech.
  • I must have cream and sugar in my coffee as well.

I hate orange juice. HATE it.  And biscuits and gravy.

I pretty much like all other foods. I'm generally not very picky.
  • Rach, you'd die a quick death over here.  The Italians panic if you put cream in your coffee and it's not supposed to be there (like a latte or cappuccino). I used to be like that, but now I drink it with just a bit of sugar.

<div>I thought the same thing--but it said no milk or non-dairy creamers. Go figure.</div><div>
</div><div>I was half tempted to put Baileys in it. My instruction sheet said nothing about Baileys <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-undecided.gif" border="0" alt="Undecided" title="Undecided" /></div>

  • I'm with Amoro. I still drink my coffee with sugar and cream, but when I worked as a barista I got used to drinking it black. You just have to use really good quality coffee. And I can't drink it on an empty stomach, which isn't really helpful to you. :-/

  • I can only drink my coffee black.  The milk or cream makes it gross for me.

I gag at the smell of egg nog and I don't like cheesecake at all.  Not that I can really have them anyway being lactose intolerant.

I also can no longer eat blueberries after a canoe trip as a teenager when I ate too many and they came back up.

  • Oh Amoro, I would die!! But then I'd be okay knowing I was in Italy!

At first, I thought it would be okay--I was confident the cream served no purpose but to make it a different color--but it just tastes sooo bitter without it!

This is why I can't eat blueberries.  When I was about 7 or 8, my dad basically made us eat blueberry pancakes and I may have eaten them too fast, but they all came back up.  Never could stand the sight or smell of them after that.

  • Cheesecake and pierogies, although I have no problems eating the individual ingredients that make them up, just not a fan of those final products.

I ate a bad hotdog last Super Bowl Sunday and got food poisoning. I haven't had one since because I just associate it with feeling awful. The smell makes me nauseous, and unfortunately DH microwaves them often.

  • Rach, I agree with Merymac, you really have to have a good quality coffee, otherwise, it really is very bitter.  I really like the Christmas blend from Starbucks, but that's about the only one.  All the rest seem highly acidic and gross to me.
  • Olives and tomato sauce make me want to boot. Sucks because I'm Italian.....a total failure of an Italian.

I also HATE eggnog. Makes me feel like I'm drinking boogers.

    Olives make me literally gag.

  • I say coffee with cream is bad! Coffee with milk = so very much better.

Although all of that said, I far prefer my Chai Lattes to any coffee. I am rather addicted.

Foods I dislike? There aren't a lot. I'm not really a fan of sardines, and I cannot stand the smell of dried fish (like they eat in some parts of asia) being cooked, but that is about it.

  • I hate mushy foods like cooked mushrooms, tofu, mussels, etc. I'm much more a texture person. If its crunchy its good, or if its liquid its good, but mushy makes me want to puke.

After a bad night I want to puke if I smell tequila. I just got over root beer and can drink it again ( about 8 years ago I mixed tequila with root beer, bad decision).

Vodka makes me sick. If I have just one shot I will be sick for at least 12 hours. If I drink anything else I'm good to drink all night long with only a mild hangover.
