I am back on my day schedule. What's everyone up to today? Anyone have MLK day off?

Ricks, according to my clock it should be about 4:30 AM there.  Is that really your "day" schedule?  If so, I'm sorry.

They don't celebrate MLK over here, so that means the store are open.  They will make a public holiday for just about anything over here.  I guess there are 8 in June alone!

Hi, I was up at 3 AM. It's 4 now. I usually get up at 4 or 5 AM on school days. I have a 2 hour drive to school everyday. Can you say road rage? lol!

I wish we had more holidays.

Nah, It's kind of frustrating.  For example the rule is there has to be a Pharmacy open within 20 minutes of each other.  But we don't have a car.  And a 20 minute drive for us = 2-3 towns over.  So if you have a headache on a public holiday and one of your local Pharmacies isn't "it" for that day, you are SOL.

I wanted to get up earlier to get the laundry going since jeans take so long to air dry in the winter, but that didn't happen.

Any fun plans for your day off?

Yes! My H is taking me to get two new pairs of skinny jeans for school and then we are going to Walmart for food for my lunch and a coffee/water bottle to carry to school. I am also dying my hair in an hour. I love the look of newly dyed hair!

Oh, you air dry your jeans? I should do that. It keeps them nicer, longer right?

I like the hair cut!  When I dye myhair it takes about 3-4 days to "settle down" and look decent again, unless I go to a salon to have it done.

I started to air dry my jeans years ago.  I'm 5'5" ish and my size jeans are just the right length, so if I dry them in a machine, they shrink.  Plus I guess air drying them tightens the fibers more?  Now I have to air dry everything since there is no dryer in the apt.  But at least when I did it in the states I could put them directly under a heating vent to speed the process.  We don't have central heat here either....

Ugggh no central heat!???? I am only 5 ft, so no prob with shrinkage lol!, But,  I am going to try the air drying thing! Thanks for the idea.

Its 6am. I'm never ever ever awake this early. My FSIL got caught doing something and landed the weekend in jail, luckily my FMIL was enjoying the weekend with her grandson. Now he's in our lovely home, So nana could go to work.and he's a darling 3 yr old. Hyper, very curious, and very smart. We asked him if going back to sleep was an option he said no.. FI works in the evenings so he's usually sleeping til 10-11am.

we don't ever use it, but I suppose if it ever got really cold in there we would. 
There is also no fan in the bathroom, so when you take a shower it turns into a steam room, thereby heating the towels ;-)

Morning.

Plans for the day?  Work.  I see the sun, that is the first time in 3 days.  Hopefully people will see the sun and want to sign up.  Right now we only have on family of 4.

Morning ladies!  Checking in here for working, hehe.  I've been here since 11 last night and get off at 7 am....gotta love over-nights. 

I never dry jeans!!!  It definitely keeps them longer and doesn't shrink them so bad over time....lord, if my jeans shrank too much I'd be buying new ones all the time!  LOL!

btw - I have married a child.

He had to wear his Jets pj's last night.  He just got out of the shower and must use his Jets towel.  Now he is looking for his Jets boxers and a Jets t-shirt to wear under his chef jacket.   He does have a Jets chef hat.  But he is in training all day, so I do not think he can get away with wearing it.

All weekend I found myself saying "really?  How hard can this be dear?"

I'm here! Of course I work MLK day. Of course I do.

But the kids don't have school, so maybe I'll just hang out and play wii with them all day. That's not so bad.

Morning ladies! I don't have to work today, but I brought my work lap top home because I really need to get some stuff done. I will most likely spend most of the day putting that off. We stayed up really late last night watching District 9, so I am super tired.

I want to go back to bed but I have to go to costco when it opens to buy a scale thats on sale today, that I really want. My current scale has no indicator to show your weight, so I glued a bobby pin on... so I really need a new one. My throat hurts like a motherfucker so I just gargled some water - first try was 10x too salty. Im great at dishing out advice for crap like that and really suck actually accomplishing it myself.

'morinin' y'all! I was up for bootcamp today, and went, but started hacking stuff up as soon as I got in the car. Allergies/chect congestion is rearing tis ugly head. I was supposed to drive to Houston today to visit my uncle in ICU, but seeing as he already has pneumonia, I don't think I should go. It makes me sad, because he might not make it until November for my wedding. If he's still in next weekend, maybe I can go, but I truthfully hope he is not in the ICU for a whole week. That would be really bad!

So i am off work, but brought the laptop home so I can get caught up on beginning of the semester stuff, like collecting money from all our delinquents.

Oh, and FI made me watch Food Inc. last night. I grew up in the country, so the slaughterhouse doesn't skeeve me out, but I think I will make more of an effort to buy local than I was already doing.

Morning ladies! I'm up, and a little woozy from the sparkling wine FI and I drank last night. He has one more day of his week off, and then it's back to the hospital with him tonight, and I'll have a week to get all of my work done. I'm kind of glad I'll have that opportunity... I have a lot to do.

Also, January is always New Recipe Month for me, and tonight I'm going to try to make Pirata's meatball sub casserole! I'm excited.

Good morning, ladies   I'm at work since we don't have any holidays until Good Friday (which I know I've whined about excessively already). 

I'm super tired because we went to FI's parents house with friends to watch the Chargers/Jets game and got home much later than my usual bedtime of 9pm.  BUT the guy who sits in the office behind me is out today so I can Knot more openly today   So there's that.
