My Fiance and I have been planning our wedding since May 2010. We set the date for Sept 10, 2011 and pretty much have had everything done in advance. Since the day we got engaged, we have said (and mentioned) that we would have a "no child" wedding.
One of our groomsmens had a baby last year, on what now will our wedding day this upcoming year. (His baby came two weeks late.) She will actually be turning 1 year old on our wedding day and he asked my fiance and I (in front of his gf) if we can make an exception for his daughter who is turning 1 AND also include a birthday cake for her. I didnt really say anything, other than kids were not invited. Well we are going to see them this weekend...i know it will come up again. How do we respond? Do I allow his baby to be present AND have a birthday cake for her??? Just like all brides, I've been waiting for this day for a very long time and I honestly dont want to share this day w/ a bday party. I would love to hear your opinions, advise, comments, etc!!! Thank you!!!
