Pregnancy Related: It's 3 Days Until FFF, So WTH...

I just read this thread on Sex & Romance on the Nest:

http://community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/34128770.aspx

OP is concerned because it's not the same down there after giving birth...  Other moms are saying that it pretty much never will be, and that sex will never be as good again.

Anyone else concerned about this?

  • The sex will NEVER be as good? Thats kind of scary..
Honestly, not too worried about it. It's life, T loves me, he can learn to deal.
  • Kids change things, whether its time to sleep in, how perky your boobs are, or things below the belt. If you don't like it don't have kids, if you want to have kids deal (says the person who doesn't have kids yet)
  • Oh and theresalways surgery if you must haha
I hate Kegels. Hate. But I hate any repetitive motion.
  • I was going to say almost exactly the same thing Katie did, so... ditto katie :)

  • I've talked to most of my friends who have kids about this.  And they all say. . . hooey.  It takes time, depending on what your delivery is like, but things go back.  I have one friend who had a horribly traumatic delivery (I will not terrorize anyone with details, but DEAR GOD!), and she said it took about a year, and that perhaps things don't LOOK exactly the same, but that sex is as good for both of them as it was previously.

I'm going to hold onto this forever and never let anyone else tell me otherwise.
  • I don't think I've ever been dittoed before :)

I also figure it comes with getting older too. I mean, my body as a 26 year old is not the same body I had at 18, and will probably be better than the body I'll have at 36. I can't imagine Dh going "you know, you just aren't as good as you used to be".

I mean...who's looking? They are soo unattractive, I can't imagine them being any worse.

Someone told me recently that after giving birth it looked like a bomb went off down there for a few weeks.  I had to go to my quiet place for a while after hearing that.

  • Again, I'm thinking that no one is looking. No sex for 6 weeks anyways. I just know FI doesnt make a habit of just hanging out down there staring. I'll just have an issue if things don't feel anything like they used to. I couldn't care less about looks.

  • Yeah, this is one of the many child bearing related issues that I try desperately not to think about.

  • Katie, I think that's probably it more than anything else (general aging).  Also, my friend who had the awful experience - was 23 and 25 when she had her kids, so things were very. . . springy still, most likely.  If you're 40 when you deliver, I can see it taking longer and/or recovery being less complete.

Roxy - Seriously.  Of my group of 10 college friends who are still close, all but 3 are pg now or had a baby within the last year.  4 other friends who I'm close with who have children.  And they all concur - in due time, it feels the same.

  • Weird memory...Once I had gotten really comfortable with my mom after the adoption, we were out in the strawberry patch picking strawberries. She told me that she knew there had to be things I wasnt comfortable talkign to my dad about, so I could talk to her and ask her questions. That was my very first one lol.

  • The more I think about it, the less inclined I am to give birth. I'm not sure I can love anything enough to let it destroy my vagina.

I swear to god if any of the mom knotties on here say ANYTHING about the condition of their vag...
  • They have laser surgeries now that are basically a facelift for down there... a vaglift? One of my friends who is 51 had it done and says it's like she never had kids. I think she paid around $15k for it though, so it's not feasible for everyone.

I'm not worried. I think that the end result (a baby) will be worth everything I'll have to go through.

  • I'm way more worried about having "tennis ball in a tube sock" boobs than I am about this issue.  I dunno, I'm just optimistic.  I mean, really.  If it wasn't good, why would people have 7, 8, 9 kids?  They had to be having sex to continue to procreate.  Especially years ago, when c-sections weren't options and plastic surgery didn't exist.

vaginoplasty. Stupidest surgery I've ever heard. Unless you have some...issues that need to be fixed (not baby related)

  • Why don't you think you could ever do it? The pain was only as bad as a super intense workout and I was back on my feet in like 4 days, totally good to go by one week. It was so not a big deal. As long as you educate yourself and really know what you're getting yourself into, its not bad (as far as pain and the procedure go)

  • Pregnancy terrifies me. Like, truly I want to go rock in a corner and cry, terrifies me.
If, (and it is doubtful) FI and I decide we want a kid one day, we will be opting for adoption.
All of these kind of posts make me want to double up on bc pills, just to be safe.

  • I guess I just don't understand the fear of birth. It's totally natural. I get not wanting to have kids in general, just not the fear of birth.
