Good old fashion lover boy poll

Do I reallly need a reason to make a poll? Here it goes.

1) What was the first thing you noticed about your fi/dh that you absolutely loved personality wise?

2) Who was your first celeb crush?

3) What's your favorite love song?

4)And finally....Are you a hopeless romantic?

  • 1. Sense of humor

    2. NPH. I was in 5th grade.

    3. I have no idea, but I do like "In Whatever Time We Have" from Children of Eden.

    4. Not really. I thought I was, but I don't think so anymore.

  • 1) What was the first thing you noticed about your fi/dh that you absolutely loved personality wise?
This isn't personality, but I loved his voice. Personality wise I think it was just how kind he is.

    2) Who was your first celeb crush?
    JTT baby

    3) What's your favorite love song?
Not all love songs, but most songs by Norah Jones, Joss Stone, and Rufus Wainwright make me feel romantic :)

    4)And finally....Are you a hopeless romantic?
I don't think so. I think I used to be, then dated too many assholes, then calmed down a bunch when I realized that love doesn't have to be dramatic.

  • 1) What was the first thing you noticed about your fi/dh that you absolutely loved personality wise? He was smart, I love talking to him. We never run out of topics to discuss.

    2) Who was your first celeb crush? Jonathan Knight. ...yeahhhhh

    3) What's your favorite love song? Crazy little thing called love - queen

4)And finally....Are you a hopeless romantic? No. Infact, I don't really like romance. The only romantic thing about our wedding was the vows....and the first dance, but if you could hear us talking, it wasn't romantic at all. We were talking about my boobs.

    2) Who was your first celeb crush? I think it was Andy Gibb (remember I'm old)

     3) What's your favorite love song? none. I really do not like love songs

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests. Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • 1) What was the first thing you noticed about your fi/dh that you absolutely loved personality wise? Probably his sense of humor, or the way he treated his mom.

     2) Who was your first celeb crush? I don't remember, but it was probably one of the NKPTB (Donnie).

    3) What's your favorite love song? ???

4)And finally....Are you a hopeless romantic? Nope, I'm the antithesis of romantic.

  • Oooo, shelly, I forgot about Joey McIntyre. I can't remember who came first, though, Doogie or NKOTB...\\

Btw, my mom dug out my NKOTB Xmas tape from back in the day. I listened to a little bit of it and HOLY SHIIT did I have no idea how awful the music was.

    2. Hmm..The first I really remember was one of the nsync boys and Paul Walker in 7th grade. I cant think of any before then..

    4. Yes
  • 1) What was the first thing you noticed about your fi/dh that you absolutely loved personality wise? His sense of humor and quick wit.

    2) Who was your first celeb crush? Boys: Zach Morris from Saved By The Bell. Girls: I used to be obsessed with Marilyn Monroe. My aunt had a black and white picture of her and I used to just stare at it. Also, Susanna Hoffs from The Bangles.

    3) What's your favorite love song? "By Your Side" by Sade, "At Last" by Etta James (even though all the commercials that use it now are ruining it for me), and pretty much any old standard (Embraceable You, They Can't Take That Away From Me). Man they wrote good love songs back then.

4)And finally....Are you a hopeless romantic? Not really. Like tlv said, I'm more realistic and less dramatic, and I like it that way.

    1) What was the first thing you noticed about your fi/dh that you absolutely loved personality wise? Well, I met my FI in 3rd/4th grade, so this might not be the very first thing I ever noticed about him -- but he's always kind to everyone. He was in elementary school and he still is.

    2) Who was your first celeb crush? I, too, was a Jordan Knight fan. And Jon Bon Jovi, because my older sister had posters of him covering her walls.

    3) What's your favorite love song? Any love song by Van Morrison will do. Also a current fave is "I and Love and You" by The Avett Brothers.

4)And finally....Are you a hopeless romantic? Hopeless romantic, no. More sentimental.
  • Neil Patrick Harris I"m assuming?

Jonathan Taylor Thomas was always the best Home Improvement kid. The older one was too dumb and the younger one was unfortunate looking. Plus JTT has Tom and Huck and Man of the House on his side.

  • Too drunk to even type NKOTB correctly...

I like all of Mariah's love songs... only admitting that because of the booze.
  • I know sucrets, I feel old by some of these crushes, like roxy thinking Paul Walker was hot in the 7th grade. I think I was 22 when that movie came out. Oh dear.

Teresa, I even watched SBTB: The College Years. I may know the theme song by heart. *hangs head in shame*

    1) What was the first thing you noticed about your fi/dh that you absolutely loved personality wise? He is a really kind and gentle person. He also tends to be timid/quiet around new people, so I was intrigued when I first met him.

    2) Who was your first celeb crush? Leo DiCaprio!

    3) What's your favorite love song? "Far Away" by Nickelback. Brings back lots of deployment memories.

    4)And finally....Are you a hopeless romantic? Nah.

Haha, I've been uncool for the majority of my life -- no need to start now. But thanks to your words of wisdom, I will refrain from singing that (or other theme songs) from now on...

I'll just hum it instead. :)

Aaaand now I'll be humming the SBTB theme song for the rest of the night as well. Thanks.
