Buenos Dias!

Happy Tuesday!

Hope you all had a nice long weekend and have a great short week!

I'm babysitting all day today... then running errands afterwards.

How about you?

Re: Buenos Dias!

  • Good  morning!  I had a great long weekend and this weekend we're going out of town to visit friends, so hopefully the short week flies by!

  • ltb - I'm sorry you have a sunburn :( Aloe or aloe lotion are my BFFs when I'm fried.
  • Dani - YAY.  That's two fun weekends in a row! That is fun!
  • Good Morning.  I had a pretty excellent weekend.  I got some much needed Vitamin D for sure!  And ate super yummy ribs and steak last night off the grill.
  • Oh Stack, I have grill envy.

I can't wait to have a house so we can own a grill.  I miss grilling and hanging out outside!

I didnt have a long weekend so :P

BUT my weekend was fantastic, and yesterday wasnt half bad either at work. Although, the guy who is training me, who did most of what im doing now handed in his 2 weeks yesterday so I am a tad overwhelmed with what that might mean for me in the way of increased responsibility and tasks but I dnt want to worry about it until im actually told anything for me is changing (i just have a strong feeling it will).

It stormed here lastnight at about 1:30, my dog HATES storms and barks at loud noises that startle him so my husband and I were startled awake when the thunder cracked and my dog freaked out while he was sleeping on our bed. That was super fun!

I think it's really awesome that work is going so well.  It's normal to feel overwhelmed, but from your previous posts, it sounds like you work for cool people so it seems like they wouldn't give you work you can't handle.

And poor puppy.  My old Boxer was like that, except she'd go around and open all the bedroom doors and see who she could get in bed with.  I never could figure out why she didn't come into my room first... I hear that loud music works.  But it depends on when it happens.  In FL, we have almost daily afternoon thunderstorms, so I'd leave the radio on for her during the day.
  • I hate sunburns.  They make me really angry for some reason.  I can handle a cold or even the flu better than a sunburn.  They're just SO uncomfortable!  I'm actually not a fan of aloe for them because my skin feels really tight after, so I don't use it.

We finally got our keys for our new apartment today so we're getting there with the move!  We're going to bring someone in to paint and I'm now arguing my choice of colors with H.  Should be fun. :D  But hey!  We have a place to live! That's half the damn battle right there!
  • Good morning ladies!  I had a great weekend with FI, we sat out on our dock, went to Chesapeake Inn Saturday evening to boat and people watch, got lots of sun :)  I was pretty diligent with the sunscreen, but managed to sunburn the back of my right hand (only the right one) and a little bit on my knees.  Not too bad, considering.

Not looking forward to this week at work, but at least it's a short week, right?  My mom's going to be sending out our wedding invitations this week and next so that's exciting :)

  • How's the new gig, Alexia?
  • Today, I would love to stick around here and chit chat while I soak up some sun in my backyward. I'm heading to work instead, in about 15 minutes. I want to be 5 again so that I don't have to work and can play outside all day.
  • LTB - Chesapeake Inn is AWESOME.  Outside on the deck is really nice during the summer, it's a much more casual atmosphere, but I love watching the boats come in and out of the marina and they have live music on the weekends.  They also have a nicer dining room inside (and upstairs, I think), but I've never been.  I highly recommend the Chesapeake Bay Pizza...crab and shrimp...mmm :)  Chesapeake City in general is a cute little town to walk around, too.

  • LTB - also, Woody's in North East has THE best crab cakes ever.  EVER.
I just looked up their menu. I think I'll be talking FI into it. I haven't been to Chesapeake City yet. Is there a parking lot or street parking? And have you been there for Canal Day yet? I'd like to go but it sounds like its insanely crowded then.
    Posted by lovethebeach16
They have valet parking for $3 and I would do that.  Otherwise it's street parking (which is impossible to find on the weekends) or a municipal parking lot waaaaay far away under the bridge.

Ahahaha, Canal Day.  Yes, I've ridden through by water on Canal Day before.  It's...interesting.  Like Mardi Gras on the water.  Definitely worth seeing once, but not really my thing to do annually :)  It is insanely crowded, but it's really cool to see the TONS of boats all rafted up together and the ridiculous drunkenness that's going on :)  It's June 26 this year, the day of my "surprise" bridal shower so I won't be seeing the action this year.

  • I am actually about to go look at the stationary place right down from Woody's. I am not a big Woody's fan.

  • Morning everyone.  I'm back at work today after the HM, boo.

I fly out to Fort Lauderdale until Sunday for work tomorrow though.  Should be pretty sweet, I'm staying at some beach resort thing.  I'll miss DH and the animals, though.

  • Good Morning!

I had a nice long weekend of house sitting, enjoying their pool, and finally finding an apartment.  The apartment is the best part because it was a huge stressor for me and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted.

I also watched the Lost finale finally and I must be dumb because I don't get it.  WTF happened?

  • Pier One has crabcakes that are about the same as Woody's but its more of a local place not so many tourists. Woody's is ok if you want to wait a long time. In my opinion the food is ok, but I guess the experience is nice.

    This isn't my new gig.

I'm watching a 10-year-old that I used to watch as a baby.  Basically, I think his parents are just trying to help me out, they're awesome.  The boy has summer camps for the whole summer, except this week and last week, so we're just hanging out.  I get here at 7:30, he wakes up around 10, we do something fun for the afternoon, and then his mom comes home.  It's not bad.

I'm VERY excited to start nannying.  Next week or the week after, I start going there to help the mom out and get a feel for the routine before she officially goes back to work in July.
  • Good morning. I need a weekend to recover from my weekend. But at least it's a 4 day week now :)

<div>At the beginning of main street in North East. Its a little rough around the edges so a lot of people coming into the town don't eat there and they opt for the nicer Woody's. </div><div>

  • Morning all!  Weekend was pretty good. I bought a new car- my first ever brand new car, so I'm pretty excited. She's a 2010 Nissan Sentra and her name is Sidney. I love her.
  • Morning all.  I'm grumpy and exhausted... our A/C broke yesterday and the house was a million degrees last night.  Ugh, I do not want to be at work.

Yay you!! :D  I loved having my first ever new car, which was a Nissan Versa, hatchback version.
  • Also, I just checked my PM's, and now I'm really annoyed.  I responded to a post on Beauty yesterday, telling this lady that she was really overthinking stuff when she's worried about the color of her damn nailpolish for her vow renewal.  She finger-wagged me about not being nice.  Ugh.  I really want to bitch slap her because it came off very much as "I'm older than you, and you don't speak to me that way" which is I.R.R.I.T.A.T.T.I.N.G.  She also didn't get that the person in the picture is me, and even though my date says 4 years away, I am, in fact, married.

  • I sent her back a verbal bitch slap, so that helps a bit.  I'm just feeling irritable today with the weather being so cold and rainy for the 29th day of the 31 we've been here.

Im irritable today too, but only because it is hot and muggle and disgusting today and its making me feel out of sorts. Ill trade ya.

I saw on the news lastnight that we have had (well... Toronto, but im close enough) more heat alerts in the month of May, than we did the entire summer last year. uugh.
  • kiki- but doesn't work have a/c?  that's at least something, right? Wink

amoro- i hate when people lecture me about not being nice. a verbal bitch slap is well deserved.
