Gifts for vendors?

My FI and I were lucky enough to win a wedding/wedding reception where different vendors are providing their services at no charge.  we are still paying for the food and alcohol, but everything else took a huge chunk out of the cost.  The contest gave us a planner and she has 2 girls helping her with a few things also.  My question is, I'm still tipping the vendors of course like the limo, dj, hairstylists, ect and thought I'd give a really nice gift to the planners like a gift card or something.  The main one I feel like should get a much better once since she works on the wedding ALL the time, but how much is enough?  $200?  Also, is there something I should do besides a nice thank you card for the vendors that you don't tip, like the one that provided the dresses??  I'm worried I won't see grateful if I ignore someone that should be receiving something nice!!

Re: Gifts for vendors?

  • Thank you notes are a must for all.

I thing $200 for the planner is fine.  If you know her personally, I may go with a gift card.
  • Most people don't give gifts to their vendors.  If they're paid vendors, that's enough.  A nice thank you card would be fine if you don't want to or can't tip them but feel like they went above and beyond.

For the planners, I would give them a cash tip.  I think it would be more appreciated.
