  • Wonton soup is not my thing at all... though I'm really really craving a nice spicy Thai mango ahd chili salad today.

  • Mr. Arb hates Chinese food, and I have no one else to order it with me at home, so I haven't had any in the longest time.  This thread has made me very hungry.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Longest Day Ever Pole : I just shuddered reading that. I forgot all about that movie. It gave me nightmares for weeks.

Hand That Rocks the Cradle was the first R-rated movie I ever saw. My friend had HBO and they used to tape movies off of it all the time, which is how I watched it. I guess I was about 10. It freaked me out then.

I recorded it a month or two ago when I saw it on Showtime or TMC or something, for old time's sake. It wasn't that bad. Still messed up, but some parts were unintentionally funny, which took the edge off.

  • I've never seen crab rangoon in sauce, but alix is correct about the rest of that deliciousness.
  • The cream cheese in the rangoon is repulsive to me.  It is the only combination with crab and fried food I can imagine disliking...though to be fair, I hate most white sauces.  They remind me of mayo, which I hate with the heat of 1000 suns.

Where we get chinese it comes with a spicy sauce on the side; similar to black bean but not as strong in taste. I smother it :)

    So so so good.

I generally dislike cream cheese in anything but cheesecake but I make an exception for this. And mayonnaise disgusts me on so very many levels. I used to eat it... until one of our chefs first week of school showed us how to make it. Then I was all nuh-uh, nofreakingway.

  • I hate mayo, too, but love cream cheese in crab rangoon.  The place we go just serves it with sweet and sour sauce and spicy mustard.

I think in a lot of places they just call them crab cheese wontons- same thing.

Seriously?! Okay, I usually see crab rangoon at buffets, so that could account for lack of sauce, but next time I order takeout, I'm getting some darn crab rangoon to see if I get sauce. Sauce would make them so much better. Or I could just dip them in the S&S sauce I would have already ordered to go with the chicken...
  • If anyone has a Flat Top Grill in their area, they serve their Crab Rangoon with a Rasberry Jalepeno sauce, so tasty!

    4. Which is your favourite: caesar, greek or potato salad?
Its close between greek and caesar.. Really good greek trumps it though.

Crab Rangoon = fried wonton around crab and cream cheese....absolutely delicious when drizzled w/ sweet and sour sauce.

Crab Rangoons are not actually Chinese, though - they are American...we just serve them as chinese (just like General Tso's chicken, and fortune cookies - not to bust your bubbles)  ::runs and hides::
