Who pays for Bridesmaid Hair

Ok, I am currently in the wedding for my fiance's sister, and we just got an email saying that we  have to pay to have our own hair done for the day of the wedding? Is this normal? I have never heard of this before in the other weddings I've been in the bride always pays, and thats what I was planning for my own wedding. Am I right or is okay to expect the bridesmaid to pay for their own hairstyles that day. She is planning on having us use her personal stylist in her house which sounds kind of expensive to me. Am I wrong?

If the bride is requiring all of her BM's to get their hair done with her stylist, then she needs to pay for it. I think it is great if she can pay for it, but I don't agree with requiring the hair style to be a certain way.

I couldn't afford to pay for all of my BM's hair-do's, so I left it up to them. They were all great ladies with good heads on their shoulders, so I trusted them that it would look nice, and they all did. One of my BM'd did end of getting her hair done with my hairdresser the morning before the wedding, which was fine. She had asked me if she could just go ahead and get it done there as well. But she definitely didn't expect me to pay for it.
