creative wedding payments

Re: creative wedding payments

  • That would be a lot of work.........but I'm all for finding a way to interest people in recycling.
  • I think its cool. A little weird but good for them. At least they're not trying to solicit money from friends and family or putting their wedding on CC's.
  • Aww lil stack looks adorable!
  • A lot of work but still cool. Recycling is awesome! And like pp said, at least they aren't asking for money or putting it on CCs. They're helping the earth! :)

  • That is cool.  I'm not surprised they are from Spokane, Spokane is awesome.
  • haha, I wish I had a house big enough to store all those cans in. Would that fill an entire 10x10 room you think?

  • My dad used to work in a scrap yard. He collected cans.  He also burned the rubber insulation off some types of wiring (I know very little about this) to get to the copper inside and sold that as well. I recycle anyway, so if I had the space, I might actually consider this.

  • I think I'd just start a savings account, turn them in in small batches, and deposit the money there.

That's what I was thinking... but then they wouldn't get the press and possible additional donations along with it.

  • But they would get to use their living room.  And NOT have it smell like green beans.

  • How sticky would that be? Im always grossed out by returning cans because they never seem to be 100% empty even if you rinse before putting in bag. Its still sticky.

Awesome way to recycle, but a lot of work.
  • After I thought about this some more, the living room sounds like a pretty terrible place to store all those cans. If you didn't clean them out well, it seems like you'd end up with a pest problem. And funky smelling too.

  • ooooh this my 500 post. I can stop being a Newb now. YAY :)

I cant logicstically think of how they would FIT into a room. Do you stack neatly? Do you put in large garbage bags? Is there a HUGE pile in the middle of the room? Maybe they are storing in their basement? I'm very curious about this. Maybe I should start doing this with all the beer bottles we have kicking around from all the company my parents had over the past few weeks. That's a good $20 right there haha

  • They could be crushing the cans and then selling them to a recycling center.

Good for them, I couldn't put up with wasting all the space, I'd turn them in every so often before they started to smell and just save the money. instead of 1 big trip.
