Ask dad if he'd like to pay for rehearsal dinner?

Re: Ask dad if he'd like to pay for rehearsal dinner?

  • OP...Don't ask your dad to pay for your rehearsal dinner. If he hasn't offered, let it go and budget to pay for it yourself. Also, I understand where you're going with the ice luge. We're having one as well and they are very elegant if done correctly. I think you're talking more along the lines of this and not that cheap amazon one from the earlier poster:

And yes, I'm a lurker that came out to defend ice luges, now I'm going back to lurk.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Ask dad if he'd like to pay for rehearsal dinner? : If that is the case, then why did OP need to ask strangers how to handle this situation?  You are a beaut.

My only point to the thread was I was not sure if it was good etiquitte or not to ask; I've never planned a wedding before and won't need to again, so it was just one of those things I wasn't sure if I should ask him or not, which is why I made a point to mention if it was something he'd feel uncomfortable about I wouldn't bother asking.  Since it is rude to do so and bad etiquitte, I won't be asking.

Exactly 2010Bride2be, what I had in mind was not recreating a college party for doing shots, it was going to be something artistic incorporated into some type of seafood bar like shrimp cocktails, etc.; they run a few grand so that's one of those things where if we're over budget already, it's getting cut before more important things.

  • she's right. you can totally get one for cheap. they're not as nice as the special made custom ones, but could work if you really want one. point taken. thanks.

Oh I knew this is where the OP was going, but all I can see is a huge waste of money.

Although after clicking the link, I desperately want a Menorah ice luge.
