Hey Ladies

Yep, I'm married. The rumors are true. I don't have any pics yet, but I'll post a few as I receive them (my FB friends will probably see some before I do!).
Recap: Everything was amazingly, stunningly, mind-blowingly perfect. Those who know me know that I rarely use the word "perfect" to describe anything but a beer, but it really was. The weather was 74 degrees, sunny, lightly cloudy, with a nice breeze. The clouds seemed threatening for a minute during the end of our pre-cermony photos, but they cleared and the sun came out, giving us perfect weather for our cereony. Everything flowed so well during the day, and I honestly can't think of a thing that we would've changed.
The ceremony felt so unreal. We realized about two minutes beforehand that we didn't have the ribbons for the handfasting ceremony, but my amazing MOH ran out to our getaway car and snipped off the ribbons she had tied for us. Walking down the aisle, it felt like it wasn't really happening. I kind of felt dazed, but it was so wonderful. My two friends performed "Falling Slowly," and it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. Our mutual best friend married us, and his speech brought both of us to tears. Afterwards, I just felt as though every bit of work we'd put in was so worth it. I'm going to put in a shout out to Sucrets, since I used a lot of her ceremony for us, adding parts of our own style

The reception decor blew me away. The venue set up everything for us, and, as you guys know, there was a lot of it! I still can't believe they did everything for free. I almost felt bad. But walking there and seeing everything put together, I actually cried. All of the DIY came together and looked better than I could have dreamed. In the crazy days leading up to the wedding, I was kicking myself for doing all these projects, but it was worth every minute. The DJ rocked out, and the dance floor was packed all night, just as I'd dreamed.
Our photographers were.... It's hard to even find the word. They went so far above and beyond, I can't even describe it. They kept everybody happy, got so many shots, and totally made my day by telling me that my wedding was their favorite wedding they'd ever shot (I'm sure they say that at every wedding, but I'll take it!). When DH (I definitely just wrote "FI") and I were doing our first-look photos in Uptown Minneapolis, a woman stopped us and asked us which magazine we were doing a shoot for. Definitely gave me a boost

When we got into the limo with the WP after our couple photos, there was a moment of terror when the limo driver had no idea where any of our very major landmarks were. One of the photographers lept into action and navigated him, checking in with him by phone when we were finished at each location. Totally saved the day. The only other minor issue was when my bustle broke about 20 minutes into wearing the dress, but my bomb-ass MOH fixed it right away. It broke again later during dancing, but I switched into a short dress that I had on hand just in case.
We're at my parents' house today, but we're taking off for the honeymoon tonight. We had cancelled our honeymoon because of moving expenses, but my cousin found out and insisted that she reinstate it! We get back Saturday, and I start work on Monday, but I'll try to pop in on Sunday to AW myself a little more.
I miss you guys, and once I get a feel for my work schedule, I'll be back around a lot more, AWing wedding pics, apartment pics, and pretty much everything. So, be ready for it.
Love,
Poli
