I mentioned it in the late night thread last night, but for those of you who don't read it, I'll spread the news here also - in January, Luke will have a little brother or sister.  I will be running on cuteness overload.

On top of that however, my family could use some good vibes because shortly after we found out the news, my sister has a house fire which destroyed the second story.  They were renting, and there's talk now that the owner is just going to level the house instead of repairing it. So she's essentially homeless, and moving between my parents house and her MIL's house.

Wow, Arb, great news and terrible news.  I hope your sister lands on her feet - that sounds like a bad situation.

Congrats Aunt Arb  But sorry to hear about your sister's house, I guess at least she was only renting?  Being temporarily homeless sucks, but at least it wasn't their house to repair.

I'm playing hooky from work today.  Just relaxing a bit and then I have a bunch of cleaning to do, probably go out on the boat for a bit and maybe start on our escort cards.

Morning. We had a phone recall (I work for the govt, and it's an accountability exercise where you call everyone in the office, phone-chain style) this morning at 5, which threw me completely off and I had trouble getting up and I'm half asleep still. They always do them before I'm supposed to be awake, and it messes me up everytime.

Sorry to hear about the house sitch, Arbs, but yay for baby!

Fortunately everybody was able to get out of the house fine, especially considering the fire happened in the middle of the night.

You're not crazy - I figured I would add it because although I'm excited for another neice/nephew, it's not entirely happy news at the moment.

It IS dead this week ugh!  Maybe because it's wedding season and people are off getting married and honeymooning instead of posting here?  I don't know, I know we have slow cycles certain times of the year but I can never remember when they are.

We've gotten a lot of donated clothes/books/toys/gift cards from people, so they are gradually being able to replace some of the stuff they lost.  I think they are going to hold on to some of the gift cards and money to replace their furniture once they know where they are going to live.

As far as how they are doing emotionally...it's tough to say.  My sister and my mom don't have the best history between them, and both my parents harbor a lot of negative feelings towards BIL (which are completely justified, IMO).  So it's been very stressful/tense for both sides. But unfortunately, there's not really anyone in the family who has the capabilities to take them semi-permanently while they figure things out, and they have no savings to speak of to try and rent somewhere else since they've been living on my sister's teacher's salary for the past year.  So I have no idea what is going to happen.

It's my Friday and the last day of summer school!! Woooo Hoooo!!

Arb, I am so glad to hear about the new baby. Newness always bring happiness. I am also very sorry to hear about the tragedy. My good thoughts and prayers are with your family. I pray for restoration in relationships and in your sister's family finding a new home. Hopefully the owners of the house will help in some way.

Good morning everyone! Arbs did you ever get to sleep last night? Or are you still awake?

I can never tell if it's slow or not, this is just one of the first times that I've been back in a while because I'm completely apathetic towards the whole work situation and just want to be "around" (or in this case, affiliated) with awesome possums like you ladies.
