FH's best man makes me want to throttle him. He hemmed amd hawed about having to get a tux since he didn't wear one at his own wedding to FH's sister and so we are paying for it. When we met up at another sister's wedding he mentioned a roadtrip that FSIL and he are taking with another friend that 'well I guess we can cut it short. But I really wanted to go to Utah too.' Thinking this is his only vacation time I asked and it isn't. He plans on getting back THE DAY OF. They just planned this a few months ago. FH is his BIL! FH only has so many leave days wanting to spend some with his best friend and I know a wedding isn't important to anyone but the bride and groom but this guy is Family!

    Just let it go.   You came on here to vent it out. Hopefully this will make you feel better.  But as you said, the wedding is never going to be as important to anyone (including family) as it is to the bride and groom.   If he shows up on the day, sober, on time, and in the tux he has done all that he has to do. 

    FWIW, I would have just not paid for his tux and let him "remove himself" from the WP by not getting one on his own....but that ship has sailed.
