Fake Flowers

Re: Fake Flowers

  • I'm doing all real flowers, except my tossing boquet.

When FI and I started dating, I went to a friends wedding where she used this tossing boquet of fake flowers - only white, and guess who caught it :).  I plan on telling that story and passing it along to another lucky (hopefully) person :).

  • I know at my FSIL wedding my FMIL bought over $800 and made GOERGEOUS arrangements, and she's going to help me do the same. They're going to be small simple arrangements-- super-small budget, so I think they'll look fine. If this was 5/10 years ago, you would be able to tell that they were fake flowers, but now, it's really hard. Plus, we can let some family take them home, or I can use them around our house.

  • i dont see anything wrong with them. Maybe they are what people can afford. Maybe they wanted to make everything before hand and not pay soemone to do it. I dont know they look ok. I have seen them done cheaply like at the dollar store but it was a wedding in her backyard so it didnt matter

[QUOTE]I used fakes because the flowers weren't high on my list of priorities. It was only two bouquets and two bouts. I think they turned out pretty nice, but you could tell they were fake and I really didn't care. I held the bouquet for all of ten minutes and then it sat on the table all night. If I had used flowers as centerpieces I probably would've gone with real.

Same for me. & My BMs bouquets DID end up being cheaper than real (about $8 each). My bouquet is still a WIP, but I'm expecting to be about $15.

I'm only doing 4 bouquets (3 BMs & me). I want to keep my flowers, get a DIY done early, & get EXACTLY what I want instead of chancing a florist messing up or a store only having a limited selection.

The ones in my profile are a picture from the internet of real flowers.  In the first page of this thread, I posted an arrangement of real touch flowers that I have displayed in my home.  That's what the others are referring to.  <div>
</div><div>I wasn't insulted or anything.  I'm happy with the arrangement for my home.   But I'll be going the route of fresh flowers for my bouquet and centerpieces.  I'm DIYing the centerpieces but not the bouquets.  </div><div>
</div><div>FWIW, I think in person people will be able to tell.  I think most people looking at wedding photos won't notice.  I've seen pictures on blogs with fakes and didn't realize it until after it was pointed out.  </div>
