Good Morning

How is everyone today?  Is everyone getting back into their normal routines  now the holidays are over?

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

Re: Good Morning

  • Good morning! I'm trying my damndest to get back to the pre holiday routine. I did end up making a new year's resolution though: eat breakfast. So I got up and had my bowl of cereal and a cup of coffee and am now trying to pull myself away from the couch and out of sweats to get dressed for work.

  • Good morning!  I was hoping to get back to my regular schedule but I woke up with a nasty stomach bug this morning so I am on the couch and will most likely be knotting all day.
  • I'm just trying not to explode with excitement. Only 2 days of work this week and then off to Florida for 10. I am not excited, however, that I'm not going to have any chance to meet up with SarahSmile :(

Same here, I'm trying, haha.  I got into the bad habit of staying up waaaay too late and sleeping in and so last night I couldn't sleep for crap and I feel awful today.

Of course, the not sleeping could also have been due to the money management book I'm reading and my new obsession with my money/savings/paying off debt/etc.

EDIT:  I'm also a little (ok, a lot) cranky about the fact that I'm staring at a long stretch at work with no days off until Good Friday due to the lack of holidays and having to save most of my vacation days for the wedding.

  • Good morning!  Yeah, I had a 4 day weekend and am back to work today, trying to get back to the routine.  I'm also slacking off and planning our trip to Washington D.C. this spring.  So far I'm just checking out hotel prices and reviews and stuff.

You should be right at home though, we are having UNSEASONABLY cold weather right now :)

  • I've got a case of the Mondays. Woke up with a bitchin' head cold, somehow managed to soak my schoolbag and papers in the snow this morning, and came in to find the ceiling of my office leaking.

But, I just keep reminding myself that Friday is my last day of work until the wedding.
  • well as you know our routine never changed over the holidays (except for working more).  So nothing is different for us.

On Saturday I put away all the xmas stuff.  DH came home and was sad.  He felt he did not get a chance to enjoy all the decorations.

Dani - DC sounds fun.  Have you been there before?

DH recieved a gift of 2 nights in San Juan.  I think we are planning on going at the end of the month.  It will be great to get off the island for a few days.

  • Good morning.  I'm here, but I didn't really get a vacation so there's no routine to get back into.  Just dealing with a case of the Mondays :(

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

Unfortunately, I've heard that :( But it's still going to be warmer than the -40 we've been having.

  • I'm trying to get back into my routine. I got to "sleep in" this morning, which means the alarm went off at 6:15 rather than my normal 5:15 on regular work mornings. Girls didn't have school today, so I got to leave for work an hour later than normal. It is going to be a RUDE awakening, for all of us, tomorrow. My older daughter has gotten into some horrible sleeping habits (staying up reading until 11, sleeping until 10 or 11). I'm not looking forward to getting her butt out of bed at 6:15 tomorrow.

No, neither of us have been before so we're looking forward to it.  We went to Boston, NYC, and Philadelphia for our honeymoon and stayed in B&Bs in each city, and we really loved it and loved learning about the country's history and seeing the old buildings and such.  So I know we'll enjoy D.C.  We agree that we want to explore what the U.S. has to offer before we start planning bigger vacations outside of the U.S.

That's cool about your H's 2 day vacation gift!

  • DC is a nice town, you will like it if you like history.

The gift was cool. It was from work (the hotel is a sister property, so they trade rooms).  We also know the exec chef there.  So normally get buffed out when we go there.

  • I had last friday off only, so my schedule isn't too messed up. Although I did go watch Avatar last night and we got home at 2:30 am..

My car had about 20 inches of snow because I haven't driven it all weekend, I had to dig my way INTO my car.

Other than that, my day is pretty good. I'm in a good mood to be at work.

    Good morning everyone!

I'm just back from a couple of weeks off-line. DH and I went to Colorado and did some hiking and stuff plus spent time with his family. I want to catch up on P&E right now, but unfortunately I think I probably need to sort through all of my work e-mails first.

  • ac, there's not much to catch up on.  Most exciting thing was butterflymbca's return the other night.
