Jilted?

Anyone going to watch this new show on WE tonight? It should be interesting.

Re: Jilted?

  • I haven't heard anything about it.  What is the premise?

  • It's about women proposing to men and seeing if the men say yes or not. Sounds kind of lame when I say it like that, though.
  • It does sound lame.  Which means it is totally the kind of awesomeness that I would enjoy.

  • I thought it was about women proposing to men AFTER planning a secret wedding behind their backs?  And they propose like the week of the wedding and the men have to decide if they want to go through with it?
  • That sounds even better than the first description :).
  • I didn't even know I got the WE channel until just...right....NOW.

<div>See, I was going off the commercials. They don't really show much other than the bride asking the man to marry her.</div>
  • This show is the ultimate train wreck.

The bride plans a wedding behind the groom's back. She lies and tells him some BS reason that the cameras are there. Then, she proposes to him and tells him the wedding is in a week and that's how long he has to decide.

Oh yeah, huge trainwreck. I can't look away.

This show sounds awful, but this isn't the reason. You realize that in some couples, the woman proposes anyway, right? It's not what we did, but it's a perfectly valid option.
  • I felt awful for the guys on the show last night. It makes me really uncomfortable when people are put on the spot like that and you could tell they were put in a really tough situation. I don't know if I'll be watching it next week.
  • Additional note:  These are couples who have been together for 3+ years and have discussed getting married many, many times.  So it's not a total shock and surprise to the man that the woman wants to get married, and that she needs to move on if he's really not going to marry her.
