I'm trying to motivate my bum off the couch to change the laundry loads. I think what might motivate me is pouring a glass of cabernet while I'm up. What are you ladies up to this gloomy, rainy (well, that's what the weather is like here) night?

Birds, unless you are the little human's parents, everything is fair game. I got madelyn the cutest damn little winter jacket last year with matching boots and it was fucking awesome.

As an aunt, I figure I don't even have to be practical.

I got Madelyn a personalized rocking chair for her 1st birthday and she loves the hell out of it.

Fish that is a great idea! See she's only 9 months old and is wearing 18M clothing, so I have no idea what to get her on that front. I'm afraid if I get something cute she'll grow out of it in 2.5 seconds. I'm getting her some Berenstein Bears books, so maybe I can find something cute for her room...

Speaking of impractical aunt gifts... I once got my niece a set of 6 floor mats that double as kids' games (hop skotch, etc.). She still uses them to carpet her bedroom floor. Hehe.

Impractical gifts are the best to buy when they aren't your own kids. I bought my Godson a ride on ATV thing for his 2nd birthday. For Christmas I bought him a dual screen portable DVD player so him and his brother can both have one on headrest in front of them. No Godchild of mine will have to share a mini DVD player screen!
