Situation: Small, out-of-town wedding, many people in another city that didn't get invited due to size and cost limitations that I would like to celebrate with/have meet my fiance (many haven't).
Idea: Instead of bridal shower because there is no one city where there are many people who are coming to the wedding to invite, have a pre-wedding reception thing where people can come, eat, hang out with us (he would be there), etc. (MOH has offered to throw something, but doesn't really know what to throw due to people not being in any one location--her wedding situation was much simpler than mine).
