are you supposed to include registry information in the wedding invite?

or is it better to include a website that leads to your registry information.

Re: are you supposed to include registry information in the wedding invite?

  • and you already have 40 posts

Never include registry information in wedding invitations or save-the-dates.
  • is it appropriate to include your website "for additional information"?
  • Yes, you can include the website. There's a split of opinion around here on registry info on websites. Some say it's still too grabby; some say it's the one situation where you can volunteer the info.

Personally, I think it's good to have it on the website, jury bury it in FAQs or something. Don't put it on the homepage.
  • Don't put registry info on the invite.

<div>I've never really noticed a split at all on this question here. Tell me more. I could see opinion being split if ONLY registry info were on the website, but most websites have lots of links with registries being just one of them.</div>
  • We did enclosure cards that read "For detail on parking and accommodations, please visit our wedding website at...".  The cards truly were to direct people on where to get information on parking and hotel rooms, but our website does include links to our registries.  Our invites went out 6 days ago, the website has already been viewed over 200 times, and three gifts have been purchased off the registry.  A friend of my mother's called her to rave about how helpful the website is.  Hopefully we have not offended anyone doing it this way!
  • Putting it on the website is fine. Never include registry information in the invitations.

  • Not on the invite.  I put our website info on our save the dates and their is a page on the website with a link to our registry.  I am not going to put the wedding website info on the actual invitations.  If you didn't send save the dates, I would think it okay to put a link to an info website where they can stumble upon your registry link, as long as the registry page is not the main dish.
