Asking bridesmaids

Are there any creative or special ways to ask friends and family to be a bridemaid??

There are, if you want to spend the money, but by no means feel obligated to do so. Your friends are going to be honored to be in your wedding, so a heartfelt note/phone call, or taking them out to dinner would be fine.

Most people are going to tell you not to waste your money doing random cards, frames, or gifts, but if you are that kind of person and want to do something creative, go for it.

Etsy.com has some very cute cards, candies, and other little things that aske people to be your bridesmaids. I wanted to ask all of mine at relatively the same time, because 4/6 of them are really good friends, and I didn't want to deal with, "she was asked before me." I sent them cute little cookie bouquets. Personally I think food is the way to go, but I just like food.

You could hire a singing telegram to ask each of them.

Or you could just ask them, which is what I did.  I know a lot of people have found cute "will you be my bridesmaid?" type cards online, or baked a cake with those words on it.  I don't know.  I apparently skipped out on the creativity of this whole process.

I'm scared to do it in a fancy or cute way because, well, what if one of them turns me down, lol?

Someone made a cd once... ummm not a cd.. it was like a dvd.. omg, I'm drawing a blank, but I think it was over at the Wedding Party forum somewhere...

Yeah, as much as cards and gifts and cakes are cute... I don't really think they're necessary. I just called all my girls and asked.

I think little e-cards could be a quick and cute way to do it.

I was so excited, I called and asked mine (well, at least two of them) before I even stopped to think!  Heck, I think I asked my best friend to be MOH before I even told my family I was engaged!

I just asked my bridesmaids.  My sister was a bridesmaid once for someone else and got asked on a cookie:

I only had a MOH, and I asked her over the phone the day after DH proposed (we live in different cities and I was out of town with family that weekend anyway). I said I had a question for her, then asked if she would like to be my MOH. It took a few seconds for it to register, but once it did she started screaming. I think she was more excited than I was.

Well, I hired an airplane and asked all of mine via skywriting. It got pretty long after he included everyone's names.

I just took mine out in person (one at a time) and aske them over coffee. Except my brother who lives out of state. He got a phone call.
