Invite Question

For a gay couple do I list Mr. X and Mr. X or do I list the first name and the next name under it?

Re: Invite Question

  • We live in Florida, they are not allowed to get married in the eyes of the law unfortunately.
  • My sister and her partner are not married yet, but engaged, so their invitation is:

    Ms. My Sister
    Ms. My Sister's Partner
    Address

The "and" or "&" implies marriage.
  • Depends. I did "and" for a lesbian couple I invited, because I know they pretty much consider themselves married, they just aren't allowed to be legally married in my state. However, if they're just dating/don't live together/haven't been together a long time, I'd address them like any other dating couple, which is separate lines, no "and." I doubt they'd be offended either way.

Thanks! I think I am going to just list them separate to be safe. I am not exactly sure just how serious the relationship is!
