I just wanted to tell you that thanks to your sig, my 8 year old nephew now knows what a palindrome is and can recite many examples, taco cat being one of them.

That. is. fantastic. I'm very glad to know that taco cat is good for some education and not just asshattery. If he really likes palindromes, he should check out that song by Weird Al. It's all palindromes, and the video for it is in the style of the Bob Dylan video with all the signs (I'm blanking on the name right now).

Btw, I may steal your last comment for my sig. :)

I'm surprised my brother hasn't thought of the Weird Al thing yet...he used to be a big fan.

My nephew laid down on my bed and was looking at my computer and read your sig, so I told him what a palindrome was and we googled it and looked at other examples.  Later on in the day, I had him tell his parents and my parents what a palindrome is and asked him to give examples.  His mind is like a little sponge - he remembered SO MANY of them!

Oh, and he went to tell my mom that 'poop' was a palindrome but prefaced it with the fact that it's a potty word, LOL.

OMG that is hilarious. What a smart little guy, and even smarter for calling out "poop," the greatest palindrome of them all. I like your nephew.

He can be a manipulative, whiny brat, but he's really smart and I'm starting to like him better, lol.  The younger one is so loveable!  The older one (the one that this thread was about) is the worse loser ever and storms out of the room if he's not winning.  They're working on it, but he's always been uptight like that.  The younger one gives you a hug and a kiss when you win and he genuinely means it.

Isn't it crazy how they can have such different and defined personalities at such a young age? I wonder if the older one's uptightedness (word?) has to do with his birth order. It's kind of cliche, but I seem to notice that IRL with my own family and people I know. It's not necessarily a bad thing.

Are the little ones excited for their new cousin?

They are excited!  They said a few unsolicited sweet things about the baby. 

Bro and SIL gave us some baby clothes for xmas, and the younger boy asked if it was for Kira (their 3 y/o sister).  I held up the clothes and asked "do you think these will fit her?" and he said "no."

Their personalities have been like this since birth - the younger one has always been more carefree and cuddly, the older one is smart enough to be afraid of things and cautious of the unknown. 

The younger one is also better at video games and asks his brother to wait up for him or to get through certain levels for him.  It's kinda funny to watch!

Aw, they sound so cute. Unsolicited comments of any kind from kids are the best. Hopefully you will be able to move to MA and then they can all grow up with baby sucrets!

For real though! I'm still looking at jobs until I get confirmation on this job I *think* I have in the bag, so if I hear of anything through my networks out here I will let you know! I already know he's qualified because he pegged psichick as a pompous drag.

Haha, don't worry about psichick, she'll pop up soon once someone starts talking about something she knows nothing about. Did I miss something about Arkansas? Preliminary WTF.

Thanks re: the job. I got an offer the day before Christmas Eve, but haven't been able to get in touch with the director since then. It's the holidays, so I'm not super worried, but it's still weird to not hear back for over a week after a job offer. I've left voicemail and email. I'm just going to chill out, call on Monday and react to things as they happen. No need to worry until then.

I'd definitely just chill about the job - they're probably all on vacation.

psichick made a nasty remark about going back to my "hick hell state" to which I said I was confused since I was currently on Long Island.  She didn't reply.

Seriously.  What an awful thing to say to someone just because they proved you wrong.  It's up there with "your mom".
