Bridesmaid gifts

Hi ladies.. what is the average amount of money you spend on your bridemaid's gift?  I know it also depends on an individual's budget, but I am curious at what others are doing... thank you!

Re: Bridesmaid gifts

  • I don't think it really matters how much you spend as long as it is something your BMs will like or is meaningful.

  • I did custom stationery and wine. But FI's dad is a wine distributor, so we got that from him. I'd guestimate around $50 or so.

  • I'm sewing a clutch for each of my girls and getting them a $25 gift card to a store/restaurant they enjoy.

Total, it will come to around $30 per girl.

I spent about $100 per person. The ex- also spent in that range for his groomsmen. I also paid for hair and makeup for anyone who chose to come with me to my salon (2 of the 4). The other 2 opted to go to their own places so I didn't pay for that. (And no, nobody was required to anything with hair or makeup -- purely their own choices.)

ETA: The gifts I've received seem to range from about $30-$100.
  • I spent around $100 on each of them.  It was more than average, I know, but I only had 3, and I really wanted to do something nice - they went WAY over the top on my b-party and covered the entire cost just the 3 of them.  They each got a tote bag embroidered with their initials, jewelery they could wear to the wedding if they wanted or not if they didn't, a bottle of wine, a Coach clutch, and something tailored to them:  a spa wrap for one, a bird feeder & bird book for another, and a GC to go to the local glass blowing studio and make something for the third.

  • I spent about $90 on each girl, I found beautiful necklaces that were buy 1 get 1 and they were originally $175 each. I have 6 girls, my MOH was a little more expensive because of the color pearl in her necklace, it was above the average spend but I feel like the girls will be happy with their gifts and I think they are beautiful and they have been amazing so far, so it's worth it to me.

  • Thank you everyone!
  • I spent about $45 on a personalized hand-stamped necklace from yumedesignonline.com. All my girls LOVED them and I have one, too.

  • Honestly,  I say spend what you can afford. Don't put yourself in debt over it.
