Is it okay to not follow up on the guest list

I have a friend who hasn't spoken to me since December.  I sent her a save-the-date & an invitation & haven't heard anything from her.  Now that we're 3 weeks from the wedding, is it okay to assume she's not coming or do I have to go through the drama of actually calling her?

No.  You need to follow up.  What if she shows up and there's no food or chair for her?

i would definitely call her. at least get confirmation that she is not coming so that you don't look like a jerk when she shows up last minute and there is no space for her.

Definitely call or email.  Chances are she's not coming -- but what if she had sent it back and it got lost in the mail?  Or what if the invite never made it to her in the first place?  Despite whatever happened between you two, you want to be the bigger person.

I would e-mail.  That way you are still reaching out, but don't have the awkwardness of a phone call.

We didn't have assigned seating and we didn't have to provide a hard number to the caterer, so there were a few people I didn't bother following up. But if you're assigning seating and need to know an exact number definitely follow up.

Same as PP.  I didn't follow up with everyone, but we had more than enough seating and food so we knew it wouldn't be a problem.  If you need to follow up for number purposes, just email.

I have a few other people I need to follow up with - so I'll do a mass email - with appropriate apology for sending a mass email - with everyone on the list BCC'd.

If you're BCCing everyone anyway just try to make it NOT look like a mass e-mail.
