How would you address this envelope?

My boss a single dad with full custody of his teen DD. they are very close, do everything together, she often accompanies him to work sponsored events and formal sorts of things. He is in a LTR with a woman. They don't live together but have dated for a couple years. There are photos of them together (on his desk, FB page), but none of them seem to involve his DD. i don't know if he compartmentalizes his love life from his parenting or if the DD/GF don't like each other....? Either way, I've only met his DD and not his GF. Address to him & guest (the intent would be neutrality but i worry it would come across as dismissive of his relationship or closeness with DD). Him & DD? GF? All 3?

ETA: or if she is like 17 or 18 send the daughter a separate invitation.

she's 10th or 11th grade which would make her 15-16? I'd be inviting her as his guest. I think the implication would be she gets her own +1, wouldn't it?

You know what?  I think in this situation I might just send teenage daughter her own invite.  If you think there might be bad blood there, and can spare an invite and postage, she'd probably like getting her own.

It's not 100% etiquettely correct, but if it will spare hurt feelings...

OH.  I see how you get that idea.

If this is the case, then no no no.  YOu need to invite all three, unless you're not inviting children.

ETA:  I mean, I guess you don't HAVE to invite the daughter if you're not inviting other children that you're not close to.  But the GF is a must.

I like the separate invite idea for the daughter, but I think it could be weird if you really don't know her.  

For just the boss + GF:

Mr. BossDude

Ms. GF

The proper thing to do is to invite him with his GF.  If he for whatever reason would rather bring his daughter, he can talk to you about that after he gets the invite.
