Re: is there anybody out there

  • I am here! I won't be here for that much longer, but FI has been up all night working on a project so I stayed up to keep him company and get some things of my own done.

  • What time is it there? Do you have to work in the morning?

  • I am in Chicago and it is 4:30am. I don't have to go into work until the afternoon, so I am not completely crazy right now.

It looks like he just finished up what he needed though, so it is off to bed now.

Also, there is apparently an 81 kg burger available at a cafe in Sydney now: http://uk.reuters.com/article/idUKTRE6560FZ20100607

  • It's the last day of school as in, you're working?! Or it's the last day of school in general (before your summer holidays?). I am so confused! I gather your little miss is still sitting tight, Mrs B?
  • We're doing well! DH is oot interviewing for a job, so we've been alone since Monday. Recently she's been having a 2 hour awake time in the middle of the night...I've got about 30 min left, so hopefully she'll pass out soon.

How are things on your side of the world?

Last day for the kids as summer holidays start tomorrow. Teachers are officially done on Friday but my grades are already uploaded (save any last minute work that gets turned in to me today which I do not anticipate will happen) and my end of the year checklist is 80% done. If BabyBee continues to wait it out, I can finish putting things away tomorrow and possibly not have to drive back in on Friday.

And yep, last day with the kids for a whole YEAR! I was able to get a leave of absence for next year!

  • I saw he was oot on your FB- sounds like the two of you are doing well anyway! :) It sounds like she's got a routine going now?

Things on this side of the globe are... busy. I'm trying to finish my PhD by the end of the year. It's apparent this is a rather ambitious task that may result in insanity, but I'm going to attempt to do so anyway.

My spare time is spent knotting and browsing for baby names... until we resolve the boys' name issue (alongside with finishing the PhD), there will be no attempts at baby making for us... Any suggestions?

  • hahaha. That can be his s/n! Any ideas on more formal names? ;P

H is still convinced that Voltron would be an awesome idea... thus the necessity to search for names prior to pregnancy.

Glad you're doing well. So little time left. Can't wait to see pictures of her when she arrives! What name did you decide on (apologies, I know you've told us before but I haven't been around as frequently as I used to be thus I'm a little out of the loop).

  • Voltron? Is Mr. Sun a space explorer?

    BabyBee's name is Julia Grace.

  • That's a beautiful name!

Mr Sun isn't a space explorer, but he was a nerdy little child addicted to the Voltron (aka the cat-robot) cartoon as a young child in the 80's. Thus the name obsession.

Speaking of the crazy Mr Sun, we're heading off to bed. Best of luck over the next few days, Mrs B- can't wait to 'meet' Julia!

  • Haha, sun, DH was all about Copernicus and Sigmund for awhile. Thank god we had a girl!

I have no boy suggestions...we couldn't agree on any that we liked.

B! Happy day-after-your-due-date! You definitely are a trooper, but that's GREAT that you get to take the whole year off! How wonderful for you and DD. :)

Alright, ladies, I'm out. Em finally passed out. *crosses fingers* I hope she moves out of this 'routine' soon...she seems to change them weekly, and this being up for 2 hours in the middle of the night pretty much sucks. Her milestones are most likely going to be delayed a bit for the first year or so because she was so early...so she's more likely to behave like a 1 week old as opposed to whatever is on my ticker.

    Bed calls. Night/morning/afternoon/evening!

This reminds me of a Little Brittain skit, where there is this annoying broad working somewhere and she keeps saying "computer says noooooo". I love that skit.
