Polite way to cancel a meeting with a vendor???

This photographer was recommended by another bride on my local wedding board so I called her and we set up a meeting for this Saturday but after I compared her work with some of the other photographers I'm meeting with the more I want to cancel our meeting. I don't want to waste her time because I don't plan on booking her for my wedding how should I politely cancel our meeting???

  • "I woud like to cancel our meeting as I've decided to go in anther direction.  Thank you for your time."

You don't need an elaborate story.  It's not like you're cancelling lunch with your mother.  She's a business, she should understand.

Like PP said, just say you would like to cancel. You don't have to tell them that you don't like their work.

I'm the same way :) I had to "fire" our wedding rabbi because my FI decided he just didn't like him. After that I can cancel just about anything!

If it's easier you can tell them something came up and you won't be able to make the meeting and then just never reschedule. It's not like a date, their feelings won't get hurt.
  • I had to change meeting with my venue a few times and I always felt bad about it. I haven't had to cancel meetings to not book someone but as PPs have mentioned you shouldn't feel bad.

I would personally just call her and say that you are going in a different direction.  You don't need to explain anything to her.  She will be appriciative that you aren't wasting her time.
