    [QUOTE]Where is he going?

To a mill about 4 hrs away in Georgetown SC.
  • Huh. Could you research the town and see if there's anything cool there? I'd probably go, just so I could be with him every night. I'd take the chance to read and being a super nerd, take my sewing machine lol

  • Is the other town some little podunk, or somewhere with stuff to do?  I'd probably go, but I like to travel, even if it's to BFE.

[QUOTE]That sucks, I'm sorry. Does the hotel not have a business center where you could use their computers? Is the town remotely interesting/near anything interesting? If so, I'd probably go. Otherwise I'd stay home and try to have fun doing things and having "you time."

Yeah, I should check that out. At this point, I don't even know where the hell he is staying or anything.
  • Oh, I would totally go! That place looks like a lot of fun to explore!

Yeah, I am going to do some research. I know it is north of Charleston SC, which I know is a beautiful town. I will have to look around online tonight when we get home from dinner at a friends house.

  • That's only an hour from Charleston. I'd go.
  • And 45 minutes from Myrtle Beach.
  • That is pretty cool LVB. I will have to check out that site.

Yeah, I change my answer. I thought you'd end up in the middle no where. That place looks cool and I'd totally take a day trip to Charleston.

  • Ok, it sounds like a cool place. Go, wander around during the day, and then enjoy comped dinners and hotel stays at night :) It'll be a vacation that's partially paid for by his company!
  • Missy, Charleston is the best city in SC. It'd TOTALLY be worth a day trip.
  • That looks like a cute town- go!

  • Now I wanna go!

  • Thanks ladies. I think you have convinced me to go. I already called to make sure I didn't have to work my other job next Tuesday and Thursday, so that is good.

I saw that from the map, I just wonder if it will be too cold to go swimming or anything.
  • I kinda hated Myrtle Beach :/

  • Emily - that is the only thing, we would have to pay for my dinners, he already asked the boss about it, but that is okay. The gas, his food and our stay would be paid for.

I guess I should just be happy that he asked me first before giving the boss an answer, but I couldn't tell him to tell him no since they are in a bit of a emergency situation over there with the regular crew of 2 guys. And he asked the boss if I could come along, so at least he was thinking about me.

It's just that he normally doesn't travel or anything for work except for maybe some training in the near future, so it really caught me off guard.

Yeah, its okay. It used to better when we would go there all the time when I was younger. Now it is just too comercialized and there are so many young kids that hang out there. Its not as family friendly like it used to be.
  • It was the crazy commercialism I didn't like- all those ginormous silly restaurants, the amusement park... but, I'm sure I would have loved it when I was a kid.

I feel that way about Gatlinburg. We went there for our HM after H had a confession that he really wasn't feeling going to Disney (because obviously he has no soul) and now we BOTH wish we hadn't gone. It was so commercialized and was completely overpriced. It was such a waste of money. H knows he owes me lol.
  • Yeah, if I had to choose between Chucktown or the Redneck Riviera, I'd go with Chucktown 100% of the time.

Georgetown looks cute too, so between that and the Charleston trip, I think it'll be fun.
  • I BPH Gatlinburg :(

  • I hope it will at least be scenic and pretty if nothing else. I am not sure how much time H will have to travel or go around with me bc he will be at work during the day and then on call at night. We are hoping we can get there early enough on Sunday to check a few things out. But, I will try to venture out on my own a bit. I am just super directionally challenged and we don't have a GPS or anything. H prefers to rely on maps.

I know I am going to miss you ladies and will probably have tons of threads to catch up on at night.
