Happy New Year...

I hope not too many of you have hangovers this morning.

What is everyone else up to today?  I'm working later tonight.  Just chilling until then.

Whatever you do, enjoy the first day of a new year and new decade.

Re: Happy New Year...

  • Good morning.

Suprisingly, no hangovers here.  And heaven knows we drank enough to deserve them.

Did you get to celebrate with DH at all?

Morning! We aren't doing anything exciting today. We'll go back to our apartment and I'll most likely nap, since the cats woke me up an hour ago and I've slept for just 4 hours.

EDIT - And I just found out that 2 good friends of mine got engaged last night. It's about damn time! We have all been waiting 5 years for this and I'm so excited!

  • I am up, just fed the dog, but thinking of going back to bed.  FSIL is coming over later to talk wedding stuff, and go to lunch.
  • And I think I officially have the cold FI had two weeks ago.  I've been fighting the good fight, but I'm sitting here coughing and sniffling...

Sort of.. He came home around 11:15 and went right to bed.  We did make it to midnight watching TV in the bedroom. I missed the ball dropping in Times Square, I could not make it to 1am.

Poor DH is in so much pain (from the staph being cut out).  I'm not sure how he even made it last night.  One guy was yelling obscenities at him last night about his food.  Luckily the other 800 or so people were giving him praise.  But he is still dewelling on this one dude and will not let it go.

  • Ugh to staph infection.

What was the guys problem with the food?  How can 800 rave yet one be that unhappy?  Unless he was like my late grandfather who used to like his chateaubriand (sp?) cooked well done and then complained when it took 45 minutes...

This time of year we ALWAYS get one guy who is loud and obnoxious  (and drunk).  They complain about everything in order to get a free meal.   This guy complained that his  eff'n fish was eff'n frozen and claimed that he was not aware of the cost of the buffet.    DH does not serve frozen fish and told the guy he was more than welcome to look at his fish cooler.

As far as the price.  He was sent a confirmation for his reservation with the costs to his room.  Also activities sheets are sent out everyday to all the rooms with the prices of the dinning options available on NYE.

It happens every year.  A lot of the times these same guests return year after year.  Umm, if it's as bad as you say, why do you still return?

  • Hello hello! Auguri! We had a hell of a night last night. :)  Good food, a ton of wine (oh my god, so much wine) and we didn't get home until about 4:30am, and then had to turn around and take our friends to the airport.  Well, H took the friends to the airport and I passed out.
  • Amoro that sounds like so much fun.

I just called into work.. Yikes I'm not working a 12 hour shift (plus holiiday pay)....  I guess ihis makes up for yesterday's being cancelled...

    Have a good day ladies..

  • I suggest you take a day to sit around and relax!  We're watching moooooovies today! YEAH!!
  • Happy New Year, ladies! I'm nursing a nasty headache, though I drank far less last night than I did on any given night at my brother's for Christmas. Doesn't seem fair. Have a party at my parent's house later this afternoon, and I've got to get the desserts over there in time to get them plated. Other than that, I think I'm going to take a lazy day today. I don't do them too often.

  • After spending a couple weeks hemming and hawing over what to do for NYE, H and I just decided to stay in.  We got take-out, drank champagne, and watched movies.  I feel great today!
  • Im surprisingly not hung over for the amount of booze I drank. My belly IS stll full though from the amount of food we ate yesterday, oh my god so much food. Im pretty sure my poor husband is hung over though, he "made" himself throw up this morning.
  • That was probably a smart move on his part, Nebb. I was actually very good last night. I pulled a 1/2 full carton of chocolate ice cream out of the freezer last night, since I needed more room for the leftover black-eyed peas I'd made for the soup kitchen at church (we get to take home the leftovers, and I now have 2 meals frozen, just waiting for me to nuke it after a busy day at work). Anyway, I told my girls they could have as much as they wanted. They ate about half of what was left, and I restrained myself from having any. I was so proud!
  • DH and I had a low-key evening and I think we had the equivalent of a bottle of wine each.  I'm not hungover but I'm going to make a MUCH needed trip to the kitchen for a refreshing beverage shortly.

  • I think it was too sara, he said he felt a bit better and hes sleeping it off now. He has to work at 2 so that sucks for him.

Your self control impresses me, I wish I could have exibited some lastnight heh.
  • Good morning & happy new year! Especially to the 2010 brides!

We went to H's friends' NYE party last night. The nicest part was seeing his friends visiting from BC. I didn't drink that much so I feel fine. Spending most of today watching football, I think.

  • Morning ladies and Happy New Year! I am fooling around on the internet in our hotel in Vegas, waiting for FI to wake up. We're not hung over, because we didn't really drink yesterday. Too much to see and do to spend our time drinking, and also too expensive! 2009 really went out with a bang, and I'm looking forward to 2010.

I think I'm going to need to get FI moving pretty soon, actually... We have to drive about 12 hours into Colorado today so the sooner we get going the better.
