PSA: Nissan Maxima

FI and I rented a Nissan Maxima and it is a great car!  I was kinda surprised (alothough I don't know why).  It got great mileage - more than 400 miles on one tank.  Handled well.  I was impressed.  FI and I both drive SUV's, an Explorer and Mazda CX-7, but would seriously consider a Maxima as our next car.  FYI, for anyone thinking about a next car.

Only drawback - push button start.  It was just weird getting used to pushing a button to start a car instead of a key.

  • After 2 Volvos and 3 Jeeps, I tossed in the card for keeping a car in NYC.  Our garages run over 500 a month.

I rent now and I"ve had the Nissan Maxima a few times.

Boston and back on one tank and a few extra galllons on reutrn to Hertz.  I may buy one when I move.
  • Both of H's last two cars (including his current one) were Nissan Maximas. He loves them, and the new "on" button feature too! It's great and gives you lots of specific updates on the car (i.e., leaky tire). I'd recommend them too.

  • DH just traded his in at 120k miles.  He loved his Maxima.  It was a nice ride.  We really need 4WD though for the snow up here and the giant hill I live on.
