I super hate this crap

Anyone else see something wrong with this chick's leg?? If you zoom in (it's from Anthropolige, btw) you can see that it's been badly photoshopped.  WHY WOULD YOU MAKE SOMEONE LOOK LIKE THAT?!

Re: I super hate this crap

  • My favorite part are her wee little tyrannosaurus rex arms.
  • Oh man. I didn't even notice that! She's ridiculously disproportionate!
  • Maybe she's bowlegged?  But really I hate that they do that.  I don't see the point.  Not many people look like that. How am I supposed to judge if that will look good on me if they take the model and stretch her and warp her like that?

  • photoshopdisasters.blogspot.com would love this!

<div>Right? Models are skinny.  Making them even skinnier seems pointless.  If you are going to photoshop the crap out of them anyways, then why not just use "regular" people? </div>
  • Agreed Liatris.  These people need to eat a turkey. A whole one.
  • H&M just got dinged for this.  But I think that generally happens with underwear or bathing suits?
  • Probably because it costs a lot of money to photoshop a picture.  Tyra told me so.
  • You're right Bec. It's been submitted. :)
  • No idea Lia.  I just remember one time, a girl didn't shave her armpits and she told her photoshop costs lots of money, a razor costs like a dollar.  I thought it was funny.  She was probably exaggerating, though.
  • I wouldn't say it costs a lot to photoshop.  Unless you are THE BEST PHOTOSHOPPER EVAR and only photoshop model pictures.

I like when models get their bellybuttons photoshopped out when they make them tanner.

  • That is so wrong.  I'd love to think that a girl with a leg deformity just got a chance as a model, but know that was done with Photoshop.

Maybe it's because I'm not shaped like this, but I don't even understand how a leg could be that skinny.  It isn't just bone covered with skin, there's supposed to (at the very least) be muscle there.  Can these people run or anything?

I was just going to mention this. They use real heads on computer generated bodies. I never paid that close attention before, but after looking at the models it's SO obvious.

I used to have to photoshop models for my job. I always did my best to make them appear as natural as possible though. When the bellybuttons get photoshopped out, etc, it's a sign of a bad photoshopper.

  • The one on the right is actually super cute without the sweater.
  • I can see that.
  • Ha. Kim K depressed and devastated after the split, eh? DOUBTFUL.
  • Last year I, along with a friend, modeled our other friend's line. The designer friend got our shoes for the photoshoot and the other model had a really hard time putting on her left shoe. It wasnt until it was already on that we realized the designer had gotten two right shoes by mistake, so in the pictures my friend's leg looks slightly deformed.

  • Yeah, if photoshopping paid a lot of money I'd be a lot better off than I am right now.

I photoshop things professionally for work on a daily basis and am not a millionare, so that is a bunch of lies.

I also try to make things look as natural as possible because I don't believe in total deception and I want what I do to be believable. If I erase a zit from someone's face, that's acceptable to me. If I made a size 12 girl look like a size 0, that is just ridiculous.

  • Okay, I'm being dead serious here...I don't see where her leg's been photoshopped! Her leg is bent a little, but I have skinny legs and mine do that when I stand a certain way. I'm thinking maybe it's just how her legs are?

But in general - photoshop annoys me, too. Anyone remember that Ralph Lauren ad from a while ago where the girls waist was thinner than her neck? Crazy.
  • I am seriously bowlegged so my legs sort of look like that.  Or they did when i was thinner.

<div>Okay maybe I'm just shaped weirdly because when I stand in heels that's exactly how my legs look and my hands fall in the same place, haha. I am 5'10" though, so maybe it has to do with being taller.</div>
