Centerpiece Trial

We're thinking this is what we want to use as centerpieces.  What do you all think? (It's sitting on a green pillow case, we're going to buy green fabric; and the red things are fake cranberries)http://i35.tinypic.com/14o3qsi.jpghttp://i36.tinypic.com/2wri7eu.jpg

Sorry, but I don't really like. I can't put my finger on what it is that I don't like about it. Maybe the cranberries? What about something like this:

i agree with pp. I think maybe add more candles (or a bigger candle) and mix the cranberries on the bottom with the rocks.

I like the idea, but I have some suggestions to improve on it a little. Instead of using small, multi-colored rocks on the bottom, use larger dark colored stones. I think black or really dark brown would look nice.I also think a larger candle would help.Maybe more floating cranberries would help too. Right now there's just not a whole lot of color.

Thanks for the input ladies.  We can't use real candles unfortunately, some one accidentally caught a wall on fire at the venue once. We also can't have loose stuff on the table (like putting cranberries around it).  I think we'll try using the larger rocks.

I agree, I'm not loving this either, the picture from the top makes the cranberries look like they're gumballs.  What about just doing large rocks and no cranberries or one thing I do during the holidays is buy a bag of cranberries and fill a bowl or water and then top the entire thing off w/cranberries.  If you don't add more cranberries I would forgo them completely, but that's just me.

I agree with using a darker color rocks. I'm not sure if you're alternating CPs or not but I have a suggestion for a tall one...or maybe you could modify it for another short one. FI's aunt does it at Christmas and it's really pretty and inexpensive. She just fills a tall vase with cranberries and mixes some salt (maybe sugar...but I think salt...either should work) in with it. It sounds weird but it's really cute and wintery. I can't find a pic of anything like it but I will post if I do. HTH
