[QUOTE]In Response to Re: 25 minutes... : Its good to have someone that actually gets fired up. <strong>I HATEEE the "count the rings!" shirts and shiiit coming from the Yankees.</strong> I also hate how if you go to an orioles game against the yankees at baltimore its just a sea of black.. not much orange :(

That bugs the crap out of me like you can't imagine.  I know some Yanks fans (even out here in bumfuck, ND) and every time they pull that one out I can't even respond.  Like, really?  Um, okay.  Good for you?

<div>I hate this too...you could also substitute "Steelers" in for "Yankees". </div>

  • All of our teams would have lots of rings if they also had seemingly never-ending amounts of money to throw at the best players like the Yankees do.

  • Oh yeah, Salt, congrats on the 5k!

Amoro, did you say why you're going home beyond "personal stuff" and I missed it, or is it private? Either way, hope it all goes ok.

Rosie, you mentioning your yummy lunch reminded me that I also have a killer lunch today (steak with delish sauce), and now I want it. Damn you.

Also, I haven't made the effort to follow the whole baseball season from here, but go Giants! Excited for the hometown team that they won the NL West.
  • Thank you! It felt really great. Except now I can't really walk today, but I guess that's a fair trade off.

    You are welcome!

Honestly I don't understand people that don't eat hot lunches for lunch. I can't eat a sandwich and be happy. I have to eat something warm, something like a mini dinner. I just love food so much.

<div>It was quite satisfying watching all of those fans weeping into their terrible towels. :)</div><div>

I'm with Rosie and Salt about the high intensity Ravens/Steelers game yesterday.  We had a party with some family and friends to watch it, and *afterwords we were all ready to crash!  That entire game kept you on the edge of your seat.  It was amazing to see the Ravens do so well in the high-stress last minute of the game and pull through to get that TD.

    *ETA: afterward.

  • AND THEN to end it with ray ray's interception. I swear I love that man.

  • I'll just... come around these parts after baseball season, shall I?
  • Awww, Manda.  It's okay.  We still love you, even if we loathe your team.

  • I just can't get in to baseball. I get way too emotionally wrapped up in football, and hockey season damn near gives me a coronary every year. I'm afraid if I get in to another professional sport, it will be the death of me.

At least that's not how the Steelers got their rings.  The Steelers are notorious for letting big-name players walk away for more money someplace else.  That being said Baltimore deserved to win yesterday.  If you can't manage to get one first down at home (where crowd noise in theory shouldn't be a factor) and have two offensive penalties within the last 2 minutes of the game then you deserve to lose.  One first down was all they needed to put the game away (that and Jeff Reed actually kicking properly, which doesn't happen often in big games).

I have mixed feelings about Ben's return.  I think he needs to grow the f!@# up and earn the respect of his teammates, coaches, and fans.  Until he actually proves that he's learned something valuable from this mess and turn his personal life around he's just another bratty football player to me.  Unfortunately he's damn good at his job so I am anxious to see how he plays now that his suspension is over.  I think that the chemistry between him & his offense though will take time to rejuvinate because of what he's done.   I firmly believe that if charges had actually been brought against him he would've been traded faster than you can spell Roethlisberger.  It's as if his moral compass fell out of his head when he had his motorcycle accident.
