FB oddness

Last week I received an email through FB that friend from HS had passed away.  I have not seen her in years.  It was sad I'm at the age where we are starting to 'die off'.   Surspringly we really have not had a lot of deaths from our class as some others I know (DH lost 6 classmates before 5 years was up)

Anyway, I just looked at FB and under 'Suggestions' was her FB account.  It was just weird to know she was dead and yet they are suggesting I reconnect with her.

No real point to this post.  I just found it odd.

  • Yeah that's creepy.

It reminds me of a few months ago when my H's uncle died.  I was FB friends with him and after he passed, I kept seeing his little green chat light on.  Someone, probably his wife, was logged in as him.  It was really creepy.  I thought maybe if it was just once or twice, fine, but it kept happening, so I de-friended him.  I figured no one would notice anyway.  I just never understood why she would need to log in as him.  There was never anything new posted to his page, and even if there was, she could have just logged in as herself to see it anyway.  Weird.

  • I remember when you posted about the uncle.

My aunt had my uncle's voice on the answering machine for years after he died.  It creepied me out everytime I heard had to leave a message.

  • The green light thing would freak me out.

I found out via Facebook that my uncle had died. Don't you think it would have been a little more appropriate if a family member would have CALLED me? *sigh* I guess it's just the times we live in.
  • Yeah, that's kind of weird.  I had a friend commit suicide at the end of college and couldn't bring myself to take his number out of my phone.  But then my phone rang awhile later and his number came up and I freaked out.  It was just his brother trying to figure out who all of the people in his phone were, but geez.
