Ushers - MIA

Two sisters that offered to help during the wedding agreed to be ushers. One sister was dating a GM and they recently broke up about 2 months ago. I gave her some time, then sent an e-mail that I'm sorry for the break up and I hope we can stay in contact.

I have tried to call her to see how she was. But she is not taking anyone's phone calls. Her sister isn't answering either. I left them a voice message to see if they wanted to come over to my place for dinner, no answer.

So I'm going to give her more time and try again. My question is if she decided to break away from our circle of friends and not speak to us, when is it okay to ask someone else to be an usher?  FYI, the wedding is in July.

Otherwise, you could ask someone else, but I would do it soon as you don't want them to think they were 2nd best...

I don't know how big your wedding is, but it's not always necessary to have ushers. If you honestly don't have anyone else in mind and you don't NEED it, it won't be a big deal. You can just put programs at the end of the aisles and be done with it--but that's obviously your choice.

Thanks Wheels,  I might just skip ushers, but we are having 250 guests at our wedding.

If you did ask a couple other people now and the girls did get back into contact with you at some point, could you just have them all do it? If you'd be OK with that, I'd ask new people now. If not, I'd give it some more time.
