Fruity Fruit

Hello! So our caterer doesnt 'do' fruit. . and that is the absolute one thing I want because I love it and it also helps me avoid any possible messes that might occur with the other food we're getting (italian)*hopefully*. So I wanted to see if anyone else did their own fruit trays. If you did, how did you do it? Or did you have someone else do them? We've looked into edible arrangments, but their kind of pricey and once some of the fruit is gone, the baskets look like mini weapons. I'd prefer a half empty plate than a spikey bush looking creation. Any recs? thanks! :)

Catering Works has fruit platters that you can pick up.  We're going to get a fruit platter plus some others for our Engagement party this weekend.  Their platter prices are much cheaper, IMO, then having the caterer deliver it. Plus, they are located near Pullen Park so they should be fairly convenient for pick-up.http://tinyurl.com/yl5lpgb

We've used Lowe's Foods party platters before. They turned out great and were not too expensive at all!

I second Lowe's Foods!  McAlister's also does a fruit tray with a great dip!
