Poll: Dumbest Wedding Purchase

As I'm sitting here responding to the previous post about what you let go before your wedding, I look up at a container of matchbooks with our names and wedding day on them. What was I thinking?!?! lol. I mean the initial idea is nice, but did I really need to get two different colors???? I'll be giving away these babies for years!!!! haha

The matchbooks were stupid that I bought too - mainly because I only found out after I purchased them that DH's Mom is scared of sparklers so we didn't do a sparkler exit. Oh, and re-buying several bridal party gifts because we thought we lost them only to find them right after the wedding.

Well apparently my veil was a dumb purchase since I forgot to wear it! :) Good thing I didn't buy that $190 one I wanted and stuck with the $20 one!

I'm not sure that I had a lot of dumb purchases, I did get these business cards that I thought I'd insert into my thank you notes, but they seemed ridiculous after I got them so I didn't send them at all.

I third the matches - I can't even figure out where to put the damn things. Buying a container is just another stupid thing on my to-do list right now.

I spent $300 to have a custom made veil with extra width, intricate beading, extra long fingertip length, because I was sure that's what I wanted... and when it came, after the lady who did it worked on it for 5 months, I just didnt like it. So I bought a simpler one on Ebay for $20 and liked THAT one sooo much more. What a waste!

hmmmm that's a hard question actually - I really don't regret buying anything.  The one thing I hated though was running around all day friday looking for matching umbrellas, but my parents were able to return all of the to Target.

My biggest "DOH!" moment came early on. I definitely ordered twice the amount of STD magnets that I needed. So I now have about 50 magnets with our wedding date on them sitting in a box.

Sparklers. I love the idea of them but I bought them before we booked our reception or ceremony venue. Since them we have decided to have a lunch reception and they're completely useless.

haha Katherine, I also bought a $200 birdcage veil only to hate it when I got it in the mail. It was hideous. So I ended up spending like $15 and made my own...lol. Thank goodness the designer let me return the veil for a refund minus the "restocking" fee.
