Play some stupid computer game than watch pre-season football with me right now and have a few drinks.  I'll get him back tonight when I have a headache! 

BTW, this computer game already required us to buy a new computer so he could play it since both of our laptops were too "outdated" for it. 


I'm bored, and this board is really slow tonight.  And clearly I have nothing better to do than play on here.

I can't stand football, I don't watch it with H.  Thankfully, he doesn't hold it against me.

Haha I agree that it sucks but I love football, so to me its better than nothing.  Even though it means nothing, and the starters are out after the 1st quarter, I'm just excited to see football on again finally.

I was blessed with an H that is not into sports at all. 

He used to watch Aussie Rules football, until they changed the rules, and he thinks watching grass grow is better than Cricket.  He might watch an odd Rugby game or two if it's on, but when we got cable TV he skipped the enitre sport channel package. :-)

Well he does like auto racing and the drags.  At least I can get behind the auto racing.  The drags?  well he has to suffer through home improvement shows, so I suffer through drag racing.

aMrs- I would hate you have your husband!  Haha.  I am a rarity I'm told thought!  I can and will watch pretty much any sport.  But football is by far my favorite, and I even play in fantasy football leagues.  I'm pretty good actually!  I came in 2nd place last year in a 12 "man" league, and I whooped H's butt!  We are moving across the country next month, and I am insisting that we get the NFL package since I'm dislocated from my hometown team!

I tolerate football, but hate that we get the NFL network (cable provider threw it in for free). Football 24/7 throughout the entire year. It's evil.

I can really only get behind Hockey.  And even then if the Red Wings aren't playing, why bother.  Come to think of it, since Yzerman retired, why bother at all?

Yeah, when we first started dating I had to learn the phrase "The best hockey player ever is Steve Yzerman" lol. Every year we get Red Wing/Caps tickets from Scott's sister as his birthday present. It's awesome, though I do wish they could win sometime when we go to see them.

hey, We won tickets to game four of the Stanley Cup when it was DC/Redwings.  I was sitting in the VIP section watching StevieY host that cup.

I would rather shitt glass than watch pre-season football.  The only sport I like to watch is Kentucky basketball.  Somehow I stay married to someone who works for ESPN.

OP, is it WOW that he is playing?  I hate that game, our biggest "fight" ever was over it.

I got lucky, FI and I  are rabid fans of the same football team and I converted him to my hockey team.  But he still likes the Yankees.......2 out of 3 isn't bad.

FI's Fantasy draft is Monday... mine will be the week after the wedding some time. We play in different leagues so we don't try to kill each other. Hehe. Mmmmmm football.

akhensley- Glad I'm not the only one!  I'm a Bills fan, again in the minority.  Haha H and I played in 2 fantasy leagues last year together.  It is a little brutal when we play against eachother, but so much fun.  He actually tried keeping me out of the league this year but I'm guaranteed in since I was in the finals.  Unfortunately this year H will be deployed during the season so he will be managing his team from a ship in the middle of the ocean, which will definitely make trash talking tough!

mysticl- No, its not WOW, but thats what I like to call it to annoy him.  its some game called Starcraft.  Starcraft 2 just came out with high tech graphics and other crap, which resulted in us buying a new computer.  WOW is brutal though I've heard!  Definitely glad he's not into that.

I vastly prefer video games to football. XD When I watch football I get bored and start commentating on it, but I don't know anything about the game so I make it nonsensical. It's fun. Fortunately nobody I know is a huge football fan who takes it too seriously for me to do that. And I can usually convince FH to play a round of Mario Kart with me.

Er, back on the real subject, I love watching TV with my FH, although we don't like all the same shows. We both like Star Trek and Doctor Who. Neither of us is a sports fan, unless it's something with horses or dogs in it and then I'm glued to the TV. My guilty pleasure is America's Funniest Home Videos, and I wish I could get him to stick through a whole hour of it because it's funnier when two people are laughing their butts off.

Sure I'm late to this post, but I have to put in some Football and Hockey love to the board!

Um, we already have our new years planned, hotel booked in Pittsburgh for the Winter Classic (go pens!).  H's favorite engagement present was a signed Malkin throwback jersey. And we painted his man-cave Pens colors, and he's framed Lemieux posters that he's saved since 1991.

This year I'm doing 2 fantasy football leagues, and cannot wait for football to start.  Its pretty much the only think I like to watch on TV, except maybe Glee.  When we moved to our new house 3 months ago we didn't even turn Directv on because there was no good sports on TV.  I've been missing pre-season and NFL network, but the installer is coming Saturday morning, woo hoo!  We finally set up our new flatscreen tv (thanks cousins for the best wedding gift ever!) and I'm psyched!
