Yes, they can.  I, conversely, can not.  It's kind of a lot to deal with.

  • Anna - my uncle is a muckity muck now that he is "retired" and he suggested some of the language/terms for it.  He didn't say anything about taking it out.
  • That's great Holly! Go Holly's FI!

With that, I'll talk to you all later. Good night! You know where to find me if you have any ideas for the do not play list Muni (or anyone else).

[QUOTE]Ditto Anna. My resume has a Summary at the top. Three or four sentences about my work experience and myself. I can send you my resume if you'd like to see it.

I don't even have this. I usually just put this kind of information in the cover letter. I'm not really an expert on job searching though, so who knows.
  • Charmin, I still wanna see YOU flourish.  Sorry about the outfits though, I honestly can only picture metallics sequins, and more sequins.

I love chobani. It's my breakfast everyday.  I've never seen apple cinnamon and the other awesome sounding flavor you mentioned.  FI only eats the lemon.  I like all the red fruits basically.  And mango/peach.  Where do you shop, Whole foods? I wish we had one of those.

  • aleigh, YGPM
  • MUN1 YGPM back.

  • Thanks Jesse - I like that better.
  • Meg, right now we split our shopping between Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Target, and Wal-Mart (only if I can't avoid it). I found these at Target though. I love having Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.

If he's old enough to be retired it's possible he might not be up to date on what people are looking for in resumes any more. I mean, like I said before, I am no expert in this stuff, but I've always been told not to bother with a statement of purpose because your purpose is pretty obvious, you want a job. Aren't there some HR people around here? I'm sure they would be able to help more.
  • A) I'm not planning on flourishing.

    2) I don't have a "resume" so much as a CV these days.  It doesn't have an objective or a summary at the top.  I generally put any of that in the cover letter and leave the CV for just the facts.,

  • There is a Whole Foods in Bellevue, about an hour and a half from me, it's been there for a couple years and I have never been there. They just opened a TJ's 30 minutes from us and right next to Costco so when we go to Costco we go to TJ's.

  • Hmmm how much are they at Target? We usually get them for $1/$1.25 and I know for a meal that's not expensive but damn it seems it.  When I got to Target I feel like it's always 1.25. (And I haven't seen those flavors so hopefully they are new new) I'm so cheap though.
  • He "retired" into his own business doing executive recruitment and placement so he's still very involved in getting people hired at high levels in companies.  But I'm having breakfast with him on Friday to go through some of this stuff, so I'll mention it and see what he says.
  • Chobani is almost always $1.50 here. People have been stocking up because it is on sale for $1 right now at the store I work at.

  • These were on sale 5/$5, but it seems like they're usually around $1.30 here. They're definitely more expensive than Yoplait, but they're so much more satisfying!

Jesse, is he playing, or watching? I've only been to one hockey game in my life, and it was so much fun. Now that we're in STL, I forsee more Blues games in our future.

<div>Damn it, you will flourish when I say flourish!!  Honestly though that is really awesome.  FI and I can't dance.  I really really wish we could, I wanted to do dance lessons but we never have the time.  And I feel we live in an area where there would be no places near enough (that are semi-legit)</div>
  • Well Loopy, obviously your uncle knows better than me then Smile

Also, thank you for reminding me that I really need to update my resume. I haven't really done anything with it since I finished graduate school.
  • We have both TJ's and WF's around Cleveland, but not anywhere near my home or my work or anywhere in between.
  • I have a CV rather than a resume too.  No objective section for me.  I attach a cover letter.

They are showing scenes from a local park rangers memorial service on the news right now and I'm sitting here bawling. She was murdered by a gunman with some type of Automatic weapon on New Years Day.

  • Objective: I would like a new job

  • I found Chobani at Walmart: $1.22.  It's closer to $1.50 at Publix.
  • What's a CV?
    image
  • MK, a CV is a curriculum vitae. It's like a resume, but a little more detailed and usually longer than one page. For what I've seen it's mostly used in academics.
  • Haha Anna. When H first got this job I showed my resume to someone and he said "don't take this the wrong way, but that looks like a recent college grad resume - and that's not what you are anymore".  So I've made some improvements, I'm just not sure I'm there yet.  With all the talk about networking, it didn't even occur to me to talk to my uncle until I saw him at Thanksgiving and then the holidays were crazy so we're just now getting around to it.
  • I see. Thanks for the explanation.

  • Holly, what is your degree in, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm really starting to wonder if I'm going to be able to use mine in the way that I would like to, with my certification. It's looking like I'm going to have to wait until a position opens up at one of the 2 children's hospitals here, since we don't want to move again. I'm also kicking around the idea of going for my RN...who knows at this point.
  • curriculum vitae.

It's just like a resume, only fancy pants.

Also, trader joes = magic.  I'm drinking their super cheap, super delicious moscato RIGHT NOW. and thinking about eating some of the sea salt caramels I have hoarded.
