Hey ladies.  Just wanted to share an info I got from an email promotion-  Restaurant.com is running a sale for 80% their gift certificates with promo code FUN.  DH and I have bought a few from here before and used them and definitely saved a few dollars on a meal out.

    I love this website! I've been using it for years! Spend $2 and it's worth $25 in the restaurant...can't beat it.

    You can print them as soon as you buy them.  Just an fyi that most of them have "restrictions/rules"- like 18% gratuity will be added to your bill or you must spend $35 to use the $25 gc.

    Just to play devils advocate- I think they're great when you buy them with a specific restaurant in mind that you go to- but they're tough as a gift. We received one for our engagement party and we felt a little gipped. It's obviously that the couple only spent $4-10 on our gift and there aren't any restaurants in our area that we go to that we would want to use the certificate at. We called it the old maid gift.

    It's great when you know where you're going to use it and you're already going there and it's just a "coupon" of sorts, but it's tough as a gift because then you're forced to spend more money to use the gift.

    I was thkning about doing the $50 restaurant.com as an addition to what I already got. It gets sent  in the mail its not a print out. Do we still hate the idea?

    I have a question (never used restaurant.com before). If I order a $100 GC, when I redeem the GC, can it be for a variety of restaurants or does it have to be one restaurant? I'm just deciding whether it would be better to get 4 $25 GC, 2 $50 GC or 1 $100 GC - or if it doesn't even matter.

    Sherri- I agree with you.  You have no idea how many times I've been ready to "checkout" and then re-thought my decision because there are soo many restrictions.  If I restaurant I frequented often participated then it would be great but not very many places seem to.  As far as for a gift, I would skip it for the reasons above
